No one agrees with my post above that this is Leiascards having some fun with you guys?

    No

To the OP do not send any money. Even if you get a strike ebay will take it off if it is the first time.

    Steve

Edited to add: I too do not think it is gary, what i do think happened is someone notified the OP thru ebay.

    Good for you.

say it aint so, you did not buy from that seller. do the ethical thing, just take the lick and don't try to pass it off in your own auction.image
  • Well, gary/steph have not responded to my last post. Once it all dies down the whole truth will come out and there will not be another post from this ID just so you don't think it is Gary. I thought the name was rather cool and would strike the irony.
  • I still want to know where I posted that I was supporting Gary?? Everyone seems to think that I NEVER POSTED THAT. Learn to read..

That said in the case of this box being a viglante could have possibly resulted in a person getting scammed worse than had the auction been left alone. I have made a point of how it is possible and even many of the pro vigilante posters agreed I could be right. Had it been 2 board members the item would have probaly sold for around the 10K.

That said there is really no way for anyone to have contacted the buyer through Ebay as when the item hits 200.00 it automaticaly goes private and bidders are hidden.

So the OP is either Gary, the person who bid the item up and won it or someone just screwing around.

Everyone? I certaintly did not. As a matter of fact i agreed with you.

    Good for you.

I thought the winning bidder is shown at the end of the auction? If that is the case then someone could have notified this guy. Bottom line gary is a mutt and continues to get 1000.00 dollar bids.

I say leave his auctions alone, notify ebay or the bidders if possible, do not bid them up.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • sorry I know there were a couple who know 2 wrongs do not make a right, not worth risking your Ebay account playing games with losers like Gary. Especially when you may act as no more than a shill for the scammer.
  • Nope winners not shown this was a private listing from the start..

  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
Ahh private listing from the start, then either it was gary or Nick was right.

    :-)

I'd go with it was Gary scenario.

    Good for you.

    Best advice so far!!
  • I got this reply from Stephanie late last night.

Hello I understand your concerns and what people on the psa board has said has ben all lies. I would like the opurtunity to complete this transactions and also put the psa lies to rest. If you are really interested in this box. I will take it with me to the national convention at the end of the month and pay the $ 50 to gai authenticate and seal the box. then when I come back we could meet in person and finish the transaction. this way the box would be authenticated and sealed and you would have no worries. I could go on about the psa message board but thats a pain as you seen just from your post on the boards. if you still do not want to complete the transaction i completly understand. Ps for future reference i stand behind my unopened wax 110% if any of my wax comes back as not authentic from gai or another grading company i will refund 110% of purchase price along with grading fees
    Sincerly
    Stephanie K

I am going to agree to not complete the transaction.
  • Im still here and never left thats right i dont need an alt id. Thanks though guys for bumping up the bids. The high bidder was legit when he wanted local pickup i was sure it was one of you yahoos just trying to get out of it.And the fact he showed up here purly by chance and you guys try to crucify him too. Your a sad bunch. But thats ok I offered him a money back gaurantee the box is real and would grade autherntic if sent in.. also have second high bidder ready to pay if he backs out.
So i guess i must thank you guys. Keep telling yourselfs I reseal packs there will never be proof because I dont. I think stown is finally realizing that. second all the publicity and numbers you give my auctions your making me money.
The second high bidder said he couldnt believe the auction had over 1000 hits thats why he bid so high.
    Thanks Again

    Huh?

You've admitted to swapping packs and profiting S/H from the fellow members.

While I don't have any proof that you did reseal, I honestly believe you were about to with the '84 case rip.

Rip Thread - Dated Thursday March 01, 2007 3:06 PM.

    Previous purchases:

Date puchased Feb-06-07: 1984 TOPPS FOOTBALL WAX WRAPPER MINT LOT OF 36

Date puchased Feb-19-07: 1984 TOPPS FOOTBALL LOT OF 600 NM/MINT WITH MINOR STARS

Date purchased Jan-30-07: 1984 Topps Football Box from case Elway Marino RC

    How's that bar coming along?
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

it is amazing that after all that has gone on 80sJunkie can still log in.....doesnt PSA care about their message board community....

Gary im on to you...i know you alts past and present.....lets just say i use my real life skills on message boards too...just hoping i never come face to face with you, especially if im in uniform....
  • Why is this clown signing his Ebay emails as Stephanie K?? In his profile on the CU board, he lists stephaniesportscards (or whatever his scammer ebay id is) as his ebay website.
Since he doesn't spend hours trying to scam board members on the next tainted rip, has he now taken a female alter-ego?
  • Gary = Stephanie.

    He does have manboobs.

While I don't think 80'sJunkie is Eightiesjunkpile I think Gary is pulling our leg on the under bidder wanting the cards. I think a board member is Eightiesjunkpile trying to pull the wool over Gary, but I could be wrong.
  • Still waiting for why Gary apparently has gender identity issues and signs his emails Stephanie.

    That is very possible too.

And like Leisacards said, it was best not to bid up Gary's auctions. An innocent person could get burned.

Gary I had you pegged the day you came here and cried about some ebay transaction that was going wrong. By doing so I was able to see your feedback I mentioned your POOR feedback in which at the least 6 people claimed you RESEALED packs they bought from you. Luckily Lee brought it out too. And the rest is history. Please do not come on here and insult our intelligence by saying you do not reseal packs and that their is no proof. You are a mutt that betrayed the people on here.

same old gary. Great business model.

He can go to the national, buy a LEGIT 75 mini box from BBXCHANGE for $1,400, get that slabbed, flip it to the buyer for over $1,700, make a few hundred profit, re-list the bougus box, repeat.

    Gary,

Since it appears you are reading the boards daily, I'm still waiting for a response to this question:

How did you decide whose money you would refund from the football rip? Why didn't you reply to my emails, PMs, or Paypal claims? I'm still wondering what I did/didn't do in order to make the cut?

Steve, if it was a board member, they would've bid enough to guarantee they got the high bid ($5000 or $10,000). I believe all the bids were legit.

Screw that guy. Tell him that either you pick up the case after you inspect it or no deal. Screw paypal too. I hope you paid with a credit card and not out of your checking account. Just call your credit card company and tell them there is a dispute and you are not paying. chaz

    Lee

if a board member bids 5k and a legit 2nd bidder bids 1675.00 then the 'winning' bidder wins at 1700.00, therefore a legit 2nd place bidder could get hurt.

that has been leijas point all along.

Good point. Although, like I said in the other thread, people rarely jump at second chance offers, especially if the price is high. Usually, that type of thing brings about suspicion and all one has to do is look at Gary's feedback to see what the deal is.

Whatever.... If somebody's dumb enough to bid on this private auction from a seller with multiple negs for an item they could get for $400 from the most reputable seller in the industry, well I guess they gotta learn the hard way. I mean, the bidder is being literally bombarded with red flags.

I am not an attorney but I believe after a conversation with my wife. A refund to one sets the standard policy(whether guilt of anything is implied is irrelevant). If he refunded he is liable to refund all pack busters!

The packs in this box are obviously reseals. Look at the second pack from the left. Check out the corner wraps. Those are as loose as a hooker's toolbox. No Christmas tree corners, very sloppily folded. No chance in hell those packs grade authentic.
