Man, I dug 40 feet in both directions before I gave up image

    LOL...never found 40 feet of the stuff, but I have found a small piece of it...pretty bed condition..

    Common on old farmland borders... pieces and sometimes long lengths that were 'buried' when the farm fell into disuse. Cheers, RickO

    dug forty feet in both directions....ha!...thats funny......i guess you can call me a quiter, i would have have given up at 35 feet.....lol....hh

    Barrel hoops are just as bad.
    I dug straight thru the middle of a medium size one once. Drove me nutty until I figured it out.

    Probably worse was the time I kept waving handfuls of dirt in front of my coil. I kept hearing a signal & kept dumping dirt from my hand until nothing left. But I was still getting a signal. It turns out I'd accidentally gotten a small piece of dug trash inside my glove.
