I noticed before then, but he kept saying he was going to send it. I buy a lot of coins on the boards and ebay, hard to keep track of everything. I also had talked to him on the phone and he appeared legit.

Very odd. I find it surprising that someone can be so.... blatant about it. Basically admitting they are ripping you off?

Good luck on resolution on this. Seems like the thieves just keep getting bolder.... but then again, this country sure does not seem to want to go after them very much any more...

Well you can't threaten postal fraud since the USPS wasn't used so if Amex can't help yer pretty much SOL.

American Express will not help b/c it was more than 3 months.

If anyone is interested email this guy and ask him for his side of the story. Maybe a little pressure from some board members will result in a refund. I will keep everyone posted of the status of my purchase. If anyone is interested pm me your email address and I will forward you the emails from this scam artist.

He operates a collection agency, and in previous threads, has offered/used his services for these kinds of issues - he may have some good advice as well.

You should contact the FBI and CC him on the message. Depending on the amount of money involved, computer fraud over $5K will get you 10 years for a first offense.

I think I would pay a detective to find him and go collect the money. I wouldn't care about the cost, it is the principle.

Amex should help you..if they don' t , ask for a supervisor and tell him you are cancelling the Card. Worked for me

Ebay is not what it was just 2-3 years ago. It's time to leave it to the crooks and scammers for a while. Let them eat themselves alive.
