Just thought I would pass it on. Princess Di has a huge following, and these are pretty low mintage.

egads. is this place even a US coin forum anymore?
advertising and spam galore about crazy stuff.
next will be ads for the franklin mint goods.

low mintage is thousands? what world are you from?

the reason they make so few is because no one wants them :-P

  • The site doesn't list how much silver or gold is in these coins. They say .925 fine silver and .999 fine gold, but not weight.
  • I'll pass. No offense, but they look kinda cheezy.

<< <i>the reason they make so few is because no one wants them :-P >>

Coins 101: Todays unpopular coins end up with low mintages and can become tomorrows rarities. This has been going for centuries.
Now take a happy pill and get over it.image

Well I like em, and I live in the US. And they're coins. So image

  • the large silver proof "Measures 65 millimetres in diameter"

That's a damn big coin, that's over 2.5 inches (the silver eagle is only around 40mm)?
I would take a stab at 2 ounces (maybe 2.5)
That's also a damn exspensive coin for even 2.5 ounces of silver (give or take a few)

Edited: As far as the gold 1 pound coin - that must be 1/10 ounce of gold

Unlike the U.S. Mint, very low mintages for BRM items has rarely ignited a frenzy. A lot of their "low mintage" stuff sells for considerably less than issue price. There were years they made fewer than 500 four-piece Gold Britannia sets. These can usually be purchased for considerably below issue price.

Of course, if these ever get noticed also it's a huge opportunity.

A novelty to satisfy the dwindling Diana entourage. I never will understand the hype over that woman. Then again, I do not understand the hype over movie stars. Cheers, RickO

Well I think I get my enthusiam for the mintage, and the love of Di from my brother in law.

It will certainly not be the worst buy I have ever made.

    LOL

  • Dude - she did a lot of wonderful things for a lot of people out of the kindness of her heart and then one day she was just gone (under very strange circumstances)... She was loved by a lot of people.

Where were you when Di died 10 years ago? I remember it well, there was a news bulletin on TV that she had been seriously injured in
an auto accident in Paris but the details were sketchy. Went to bed and the next morning turned on the news to see her face and "1961-1997". Thinking to myself "Oh no......."
  • HAve to admit that even though I am not a Lady Di fanatic, I was at work when the new flash occured and we left the TV one to the news channel all night long.

Why do they fixate on her so much? Well we have our movie stars/celebrities, they have their Royalty. Now look at all of the Royalty they had at the time. Other than the Queen Mum, and to a lesser extent the Queen herself, none of the rest of them are all that likeable. So Diana by comparison was a "Petunia in an onion patch".

Her true worship comes from the fact that she had the ovaries to leave Prince Charles! Gotta admire any woman who woulda done that!image

I had just used my new drivers license to pick up these breaded halibut fillets that Costco sold. My little sister and I made tarter sauce and then heard the news and watched CNN for 4 hours.
