I believe FLBill is referring to the TJ (Thomas Jefferson) ...First Spouse Gold Coin....supposed to go on sale 8/16, & not the FDCC ... I could be wrong. No date has been set yet by the US Mint for the FDCC (First Day Coin Cover)

<< <i>I'm sure you can still get them from the mint, I don't see these ever fetching much of a premium. Would be cool to find a smoothie in an FDCC though.
What's the word on the quality of the Washington covers? Are these coins less dinged up than the rolled dollars? >>
No, though they are a nice item to collect IMO.

I just dumped the last of my Washington First Day. Don't know why I even bothered except that I did get my money back and then some. You can keep the Adams.

You probably doubled your $ & now your complaining?

I am not complaining at all. It was one of those things that you buy and you really don't want. I tried to give them away at the Westford, MA coin show for $20 each and no one wanted them.

FYI....they are still selling in the mid $30 range on eBay...Why would you want to sell them for $20 at a coin show?

I had the same thing happen to me. I couldn't give them away for $22 at a Coin show. I had 6 cases with me, thought I would need 12! Show was stuffed with Classic Dealers with display cases full of widgets who held thier noses as they walked by my table top. I didn't sell one cover!
Of course, I have since sold nearly a 1,000 on Ebay. It has been a interesting contrast, to say the least.

the minit limit per "household" is gone but you can still only order ten at a time....that was after july 12th i think which was 30 days after they went on sale.
i think they are a really cool item, that won't break anyone's piggy bank to pick one up on eBay for the casual shopper or browser

I called the Mint & they say the household limit of 10 is still in place. Let me know if your order does not get cancelled within the next 48 hours....

<< <i>Looks like 42,500 so far. >>
Where did you get 42,500? The last two NN did not have the GW and JA FDCC mintages in the State Quarters column.

<< <i>The latest Mint Statistics complied by Numismatic News shows 46,191 John Adams FDCC's have been sold. >>
Thanks 'Buff, I can see clearer now. That means I only have 3,809 left to buy.
