So have you contacted PSA/DNA and Joe Orlando yet?

I still say do not get all excited just yet. Wait till it is authenticated, auctioned and paid for. Then it will be signed, sealed and delivered for the second time in 75 years. I hope it is real, but don't count the cash just yet.
The only thing I see on the E Bay contract that I don't see on his is that little dot where it says :Home address of Player :
Everything else is damn near exact , even the way the words are on an upgrade or incline where it says :American League Baseball Club of New York :
I'm really hoping this thing is real . . . . That would be a staggering find . . . .especially the way it could have so easily been thrown away .
Christ man . . . .could you imagine that ?? Could you imagine comming across it ? Woe man . . . lemme slow down , my heart can't take this kinda stuff . . . I'm in dream land . . . Part II
im just confused how this piece of history ended up in a pawn shop....wasnt Babe RUTH, Babe ruth 30 years ago? he was famous in 1970 also? so how does something like that get overlooked...something doesnt add up.....

Oh absolutely ! How does one not know they have something like that , I mean even if it is in the extened family ?
But he said someone was flying out to take a look at it , so i guess someone must be pretty damn sure it is possibly authentic or I don't know if they would waste the plane fare .
But I don't know why they wouldn't send a more local representative ?
I don't see why the ownder of the pawn shop wouldn't have auctioned it off , instead of selling it .
That being said though, there is a pawn shop by me that has a few PSA Graded 50's cards for sale in the window , but the guy is asking like 80% over book , so he'll probably sit on them for a while .
Like you said though . . . .something just don't jive .
Consider the eBay copy, probably produced on a cheap Xerox copier or fax copy judging by the quality of the signatures. Note the type over the line "Signed in duplicate this day..." which is in black on the copy and a little fainter, which is how the red text would appear when copied.
Mr Nodo's photo clearly shows the contract text in that same area in RED, which is how it should appear.
Not taking sides here, but if I were in Mastro/Steiner's shoes and Mr Nodo came to me with the photos posted here I would have definitely risked plane fare to find out in person.
I'm not too sure if they're going to risk the plane fare though if there is no chance he will sell it to them though .
They're going to fly there just to authenticate it for him ?
Or they fly there authenticate it for him and then say , you owe me 5 grand for the time /flight and hotel and LOA, basically forcing him to sell it to them for a song and a dance ?
I'm not taking sides either , as a matter of fact , I'm hoping it is the real thing for Mr. NoDo & Family . . . absolutley .
Personally, I hope he holds on to that , that is something that to me just goes way beyond the word "Memorabilia" , matter of fact . . . I'm still trying to think of the words . . . The only ones right now that come to mind are " Simply Incredible " The whole scenario is just incredible when you think of how easily it could have been lost to the world forever and ever !
My God, I couldn't even imagine something like that happening . < Shiver >
Still Mr.NoDo, if you're still reading this thread I do wish you the best on this and I hope my words aren't taken out of context .
I just hope if it does turn out to be authentic , nobody tries to jerk the guy . I feel if that is authentic, it's worth a fortune . Not 20 G's .
Why would somebody post their phone number on an "expensive" item such as this except to hopefully reel in a fish, maybe a big fish or multiple fish? Also, I didn't buy "the story" for an instant - sounded like a typical ebay BS story to me. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong - that's my opinion.
Some insight on NoDo? I have deleted some personal info.

I am a lil confused, the contract on ebay got no bids and was started at 9.95. I think the word 'copy' meant it was a xerox of an original? Or did it slip the the radar and was truly a copy 1 of 3 that they use?
also, the one that the OP has are we starting to think it is a scam?
Perhaps a simple email to Mr. Orlando with a link to this thread would prove enlightening, e.g., Dear Mr. Orlando, There's been a discussion on the boards regarding a purported 1930 Babe Ruth contract ... Have you been contacted regarding ... Thank you.
What I found funny very early on but declined to comment at that time was how he insinuated he got it from an Uncle's father that was a NL umpire. Then later on claimed it was found in a pawn shop. The way he wrote the posts did leave room that both could have happened.
I wonder if he simply copied the 'copy' that was on ebay?
My uncle had purcahsed it in the early 1970's in Missouri. His father was an umpire for the NL for some 20 years or so.
So she decided to pass it on to me to find the value and possibly sell it since I am always about making some $$$ and im damn resourceful when it comes to stuff like this. hahaha.
Nice. He amuses himself by scamming people on forums.
Lee- nice job exposing this scammer!!! Hopefully no one was taken by this clown.
I didn't want to be the nay-sayer before, but this had definitely seemed fishy. The part that he knew how to find this forum, but then was asking how to contact PSA - there were too many question marks. Let's hope no one loses any money on this one.

While this one turned up as a hoax, things like this do appear over and over. Just recently one of the early copies of the Declaration of Independence was found in an old frame bought at a thrift store. Old paintings and prints surface frequently like this.
Agree it's a scammer but he did say that it was purchased in the 70's both times in his "origin story". The extra part about his uncles dad being an NL ump shows cluttered thinking and an attempt to show that someone with baseball savy saved this relic from a pawn shop. I mean who else would even cared about a Babe Ruth contract other than a son of a former NL ump.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
I think a number of us here could have exposed him right off the bat. But it was more fun to play with this scammer a little bit and let him cut his own throat. It was early pointed out that it could be a copy.
Bottom line - "you can't cheat an honest man" - if someone here was stupid enough to PayPal this POS any amount of money thinking they were going to cheat him, then they deserve to be cheated. Sorry to sound harsh...but frankly, I doubt very much if anybody here fell for this and sent him money.
The question though as shown by the comments in the link in Lee's post...is why isn't this POS in jail? These vermin have got to start being prosecuted for, in my opinion, his attempted fraud on this thread if nothing else.
First off I am new to the forum and would like to say hello to all. At this time I am trying to find out how to get a value or how to get something authentized. I have come across what is to be believed as an original 1930 Babe Ruth contract. My uncle had purcahsed it in the early 1970's in Missouri. His father was an umpire for the NL for some 20 years or so. As far as I have found out so far the contract is the original. It is in Mint condition and has been stored properly for the past 30+ years. I am in need to trying to find out on how to get a value of this item. If someone could help out that would be great. I have faxed a copy of the contract to a couple different places and I have already had an offer made of $20k on it from Stiner Sports. They even offered to fly in to take a look at it and cut me a check on the spot.
If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You could use it for toilet paper.
Damn Good work Mr. CdsNuts ! Man . . . I knew that was way too good to be true .
I kind of had my doubts of something like "THAT" being in the possesion of someone that had a hard time passing 3rd grade grammar . . . Not for nuthin .
"Oh wow yall . . . . take a lookie here at what I all found in the dresser drawers maw "
"Maybe I should get this here authentisified " Authentisificated
Despite all of the original red flags, I really wanted to believe this was the real deal. One of these days it would be neat to see something like this pop here and actually be authentic. I wouldn't mind being the one to find it either.
