Live box break of a very exciting product.

Felt like opening something, and I cant possibly open anymore Topps series 1 or Topps Heritage (Topps series 2 has no appeal to me), so I grabbed this fine looking specimen. I know this isn't the same as the hidden treasure boxes, but this in honor of a recent thread about the hidden treasure boxes and smashing the odds. If you're watching ORANGE, this one is for you because......oh yes, it will be a LIVE BOX BREAK. pictures to follow as they come.

I love those things. I get the football ones each trip to Target of KMart. Maybe one a month. I just want to get some Packer Cards. I have scored large on these. I bet I have purchase 20-25 of them. I got a Jersey Patch of Jerry Rice on the 49ers #'s out of 100. Ricky Williams Rookie #'d out of 99 as my two biggest pulls. The extra surprises have been the best. Full sized doll (action figure for men) of Urlacher and another of, yup you guessed it, FAVRE. Made my day on that one. I got a Fleer focus Donald Driver rookie and a few autos of useless players.

    Enjoy the break.

Lastly, I did get a 1992 Proset football pack with Mike Holmgren for my Packer HOF rookie set too.

Or the super rare 1990 Upper Deck "non-overprinted" griffey card.
  • nam812nam812 Posts: 10,587 ✭✭✭✭✭
The 10 packs inside this treasure trove are: 1987 Topps, 1989 Topps, 1990 Fleer, 1990 Upper Deck, 1991 Donruss, 1991 Score, 1991 Upper Deck, 1992 Ultra, 1998 Score X 2, 2006 Fleer, and 2006 Ultra.

I will start with the two 1998 Score packs and work towards the obvious crescendo of the 1987 Topps. Stay tuned!!
  • nam812nam812 Posts: 10,587 ✭✭✭✭✭
Thats actually 12, but the box says 10 packs, so im guessing the two 1998 score packs that were just in clear sealed cellophane were not "packs". Gary, any clarification on that?

  • Is that Billy Hatcher?
  • nam812nam812 Posts: 10,587 ✭✭✭✭✭
By the way, whats up with 1990 and 1991 Upper Deck cards being in the pack backwards and forwards and upside down? There's nothing better than having to straighten all the cards out as you're sifting through them?
  • I don't know but if that Fleer Sticker were cut better I would have PMed an offer
  • Is that Dodgers sticker diamond cut?

Still a great action shot immortalized in sticker form!

  • As a kid, getting those Upper Deck team holograms were so much cooler than the cards. Oh, and 1992 Ultra was one of the best looking modern sets of all time. Easily in my top two or three.

And now what you've all been waiting for. What you've all been checking the thread almost at a delerious pace for. The one, the only, the 1987 Topps wax pack.
  • EstilEstil Posts: 7,131 ✭✭✭✭
Good going on pulling that Ultra insert. I also agree the 1992 Ultra set is one of the most beautiful sets ever made (I currently own both the regular set and ALL insert sets). And 1987 (and 1989) Topps are a couple of my personal favorites too; good luck with those! image

Say, does the 2006 Ultra still include BOTH a Gold Medallion card and insert card in each pack? That's how they used to do it in the mid-late 90s (and in 1995 and 1996 the Gold Medallion card could also be an insert card).

zep - I would PM you but it's not on.

While it may be funny to some, if I recall correctly, others were seriously offended by that pic.

Perhaps removing it will prevent an uproar and this thread won't get hijacked.

You're right, I didn't see that. I was so overcome in seeing a 87 Topps pack, as well as the shiny sh1t cards that I got too excited. The best I can do is to throw in a 1988 Donruss set (I bet Estil has one of those!!!!!) but I would be very relunctant to do so unless I can be assured that each of your treasured cards will be in a screwdown holder and packed in kasmir goat down.
