I thought I would share a few OPCs from my collection. This is meant to encourage you guys to keep opening those OPC packs. There are centered ones out there. If you decided to grade any of your cards and they come back 8 or better, I would be interested in them. Good luck with your pack rips.

  • yankeeno7yankeeno7 Posts: 9,251 ✭✭✭
The ABSOLUTE SHARPEST pack of 78s I have ever seen! This pack can NOT be from the same box as the first. I wish I had the entire box where this pack came from!!!

juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust a bit rough cut. I get too nervous submitting OPC for profit, but that sure does look nice image They wont take off for a rough cut, but it makes the corners look BUSTED!
  • I thought there might be two in that box, how's he centered on the back?

Centering on back is 30/70 L/R and 75/25 T/B...not bad

You totally scored on this box multiple Ozzies, a Ryan, a Rose, multiple Bench's. That looks like alot of fun.

And that is that for the 1979 OPC's...overall Im pleased. Seem a bit short on the HOFers compared to the number of cards but maybe it was just my desire that made it seem short. Anyway, 2 packs of 77 on their way!

I am quite disappointed that I got no HOFers in the 77's considering my odds. Oh well, the odds weren't with me on them. But I do have 2 Ozzie Rookies! image

Yup, a ton of fun! And well worth it! (this time anyway! LOL)

I hope you all enjoyed the rip. Sorry Estil, only got the one Yaz and that one is sticking in my set.

Who's turn for the next rip???
  • Yankeeno-pm me your 79 needs list when you get it put together
Estil - PM me your address I think I have an extra 79 OPC Yaz from my boxes
  • yankeeno7yankeeno7 Posts: 9,251 ✭✭✭
    Thanks HA
Much appreciated...I believe I have your list
  • Actually as soon as my package gets here from Big80's gets here my set is complete, so maybe I can trade you for some 78's, I haven't started that set yet.
  • Thanks, that was fun . What's up with Bruce Boisclair and the aluminum bat?
  • yankeeno7yankeeno7 Posts: 9,251 ✭✭✭
Maybe a fungo bat? doesnt look like one but cant see the top.

barry if you ever need professional reference i got your back. your scanning ability is incredible!

nice winfield '79 (i think), it aint so nice? looks nicely centered.

2nd ozzie is nice, i have several psa 9's w/ rough cuts, i only suggest premium submission alternative.

LOL Yeah, so much for scanning abilities, huh....too much to be concerned that they are all straight! But thanks for the reference, man!

Yeah, the Winfield will be submitted. Its real nice. Nice enough to take a chance at grading though. There isnt much in a 79 opc box that you can grade due to cuts and centering so its a treat to send in a couple from a break. No commons though. And I dont think I'll send in the second Ozzie. Still teetering on if I should or not.

That was so cool,,,, Almost Like I ripped the box myself...

When I get a chance in the next week or so I'll rip the box of 81 OPC I got from Lee (feartheterps)

    BTW
I want to thank Steve Hart and his crew at BBCExchange for this FINE box! The box was perfect, the packs were perfect, and the service/delivery was perfect!

If anyone is covering their bar in 1979 OPC wax wrappers, let me know! I know there isnt anyone who would ever reseal! Goodness NO!

And thanks for sharing my rip everyone! It was a blast and I hope I can do another one someday fairly soon!

Thanks for posting, Barry! Some real nice cards and two Ozzies in the box! I'd definitely send in that second Ozzie with the Winfield when you submit. It's always a vicarious thrill to see a box break featured in such excellent detail! Great job!
