Keeping track of collections

Just wondering how everyone here keeps track of their collections. Since I've started pursuing my football collection from 68-79, I've built a database for those years in Access so I can keep track of how much I have paid and who I have bought from, etc etc. Curious as to how everyone else keeps track of theirs.

I track mine using Vintage Card Prices. There may be better sites, but I like how it tracks the prices of my cards based on recent sales.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

I have a small amount of my collection in an Excel workbook. Mostly my graded seperated by years. Excel gives me the ability to import the Pop report and any registry collection I choose. I also use Vintage Card Prices to track the current value of all my graded cards prior to 1990.

    WOW !
And I thought my wife was the only one who did that .
The first time I saw her card collection I was stunned to see it like that .

The first thing that came to mind was . . . . " Damn that must have taken a hell of a lot of time "

For me , I don't keep track of anything , the common cards are in binders , the most rare cards are in hard plastic cases the semi rare are in the Ultra 9 card holders hanging on the wall and I have about 15 shoe boxes in the closet that one day I might go through. Baseballs/Footballs/Jerseys are in display cases .
Nothing is archived or written down though .

I use the registry to keep track of my collection, and a notebook with how much Ive paid for an item. A weird thing I do is I also log in where I bought the card from IE: Texas, California, it is cool to me for some reason.

I use excel by importing checklists from Beckett ($5 for one month) and prices via SMR online.

You can play with it for hours/days/months/years image and customize it to your liking.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
