    Looking good boyzz.

I haven't seen a few members' posts regarding communications or "coming to terms", OR posting of numbers!!

REMEMBER, EVERYONE HAS A CHART AND IS BEING RATED.

Let's remember the rules. Communicate and post progress, please.

Thank you to those that have.

  • BigJohn and I have made our minds up, and the exchanges will hit this week

With busy schedules, both of us, time is a precious thing these days. Having a bit extra is hard to come by.

  • I had a PM reply from lordmarcovan last night. He's not been around for a while. We are talking about our swap, and I'm in no rush.

Do we have a time limit?
(Old man) Look I had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was, “That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah”.

(Priest) BLASPHEMY he said it again, did you hear him?

Today I received what I believe to be my swap material from DJCoinz. I MUST say that I am VERY impressed with this young man. He is a delight to work with and I am very impressed with the SPEED with which the package arrived here. Wow!

Let's see, I received an NGC 64 1883-O Morgan with a very unique looking MintMark, a 1956 & 1957 ICG 67 Washington Quarter - both solid White and definite "No Brainer" crossovers to PCGS 66, a very nice, spotless 2005 American Silver Eagle in an Air Tite a circulated 1943 Mercury Dime in Fine condition and a 1961 Canadian Quarter.

I am very pleased with the swap but moreso with my swap-mate to whom I publicly say Thank you. This young man, for a first time swapper certainly deserves mention and a 5 star rating.

Thank you Daniel. This young swapper's first swap was executed PERFECTLY! image

Below is the info on your material -
    Label/Receipt Number: 4205 3520 9105 7850 9140 1183 1982 59

  • Coins received from eyoung! Package actually got delivered yesterday, but I didn't check my box until a few minutes ago.

Earl, I'm overwhelmed by your generosity. The 1881-O would of been plenty all by itself, it's gorgeous. Thank you for going the extra mile by adding 2 other Morgans to my shipment:

1881-O Morgan Dollar an easy MS64 if not for a few marks on her cheek and neck. Still a lustrous beauty!
1921-D Morgan Dollar EF details, nice even frosting.
1921-D Morgan Dollar VF details, darker with some nice russet toning on both sides, especially nice across the left wing.

All 3 are mint marks I didn't have before, and I'm very happy with the swap. I like being generous, and it's a bit embarrassing to be outdone like this. Thanks again, Earl!

Wow, Got my coins from ElKevvo today, and what a bunch!!imageimage
Started off with a nice BU 1949D wheatie, super nice coin
Second, we have a 1935 Stone Mt. Commem. I just love this coin and traded off my AU waiting to get a BU, and here it is. Super nice one Kevin.
Third, we have a nice BU 1962 Frankie. Just the way I like them, nice BU coin. Fits great in my Dansco setimage
And last but certainly not least is a super nice NGC graded MS63 Columbian Commem. I actually already had an Au example, but was certainly wanting an upgrade and this one is super nice for the grade, and a nice brite white coin.
super trade Kevin, I love them all, and appreciate the goodies. Now I just hope mine "measures up" imageimageimage

OK, so ... this dance isn't quite over with yet. Remember, ALL of us are being rated by yours truly and yes ...there is a reason for all this

1- Has everyone communicated and come to terms before swapping? Have we arrived at a $$$ amount?

2- Has everyone furnished shipping information and POSTED such to the boards?

3- Have we all swapped in a timely manner? In other words ... simultaneously?

4- Is EVERYONE satisfied? Remember to POST TO THE BOARDS whether or not you are satisfied.
(HINT: REMEMBER the rule about NOT doing ANYTHING with what you received till ...WHAT??? POST HERE ON THE BOARDS)

5- If you are not happy that your swap was an equitable one, PLEASE FIRST try to work it out amongst yourselves amicably! Once the Swap is finished business and both parties are happy, please SAY SO.

6- DO NOT DUMP Junk on your partner hoping to get nice stuff. That's totally unacceptable here.

7- If, at any time, I receive chronic complaints on any member I will deal with it in no uncertain terms. LET'S HOPE THIS NEVER HAPPENS.

8- Conduct yourselves as men of Integrity. If you say you are going to send a certain thing, DO SO and add a little extra if in doubt.

9- I have noted that all have done the first steps rather well HOWEVER I have also noticed that NOT EVERYONE is posting numbers nor orthat they've come to terms etc .... Not EVERYONE is following through with the latter parts of this procedure.

10- I CANNOT READ MINDS! IF you are NOT HAPPY, tell your partner. DO NOT allow ill feelings to fester.

11- So that there are NO misunderstandings, PLEASE FOLLOW THROUGH with all the protocol and if you feel shorted, work things out. IF YOU CANNOT, PLEASE SEND EACH OTHERS' ITEMS BACK AND POST THIS TO THE BOARDS.

12- I HAVE to know all this. I need a feedback system. I would love to see these swaps go off successfully and for others to join us.

    13- More Later....

    Your co-operation IS appreciated.

This is THE part that REALLY needs mending because THIS IS WHERE THE BAD BLOOD AND ILL FEELINGS BEGIN..

I am a Giver and am very easy to satisfy. I ask you ALL.... HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU ACTUALLY NOTED THAT I HAVE 1) SAT OUT BECAUSE WE WERE ODD NUMBERED OR 2) AS CO-ORDINATOR, WHEN I DO TAKE PART, TAKE ON NEWCOMERS TO CHECK THESE PEOPLE OUT? I take it upon Myself that if ANYBODY is going to get burned it would stands to reason that it should BE ME! BEFORE I SAY ANOTHER WORD LET ME CHILL BY GETTING A COLD DR PEPPER AND A CIGARETTE. I'VE GOT A FEELING THE FUR IS ABOUT TO FLY!

    OK ... HERE WE GO!

AS FOR MY SWAPS, AS STATED, I EITHER NORMALLY SIT OUT WHEN ODD #d or take the risks around here. I also try, BY WHAT I AM HEARING OR READING FROM MY PERSPECTIVE PARTNER, to not only accomodate him whenever possible FROM HIS INPUT but TO EXCEED what I hear he INTENDS TO SEND. I am a GIVER - NOT A GETTER. AS long as what I receive is WITHIN REASON, I am satisfied!

I THINK BOTH PARTNERS (BEING NEW) WERE SATISFIED! To the best of my memory. Jim sent me a 1999 $5 Gold piece and as extra a couple new 2007 Kennedy Halves. I do not collect Kennedy Halves and certainly did NOT expect them but thought it was a nice gesture for my partner to send a little "extra." Good Marks for bigtime36.
HE tells me that he is easy going and collects this and that and noticed that I liked Quarters and that if I had some that would be fine. I DO NOT recall the EXACT number sent but I DID send a bunch of PQ, certifiable pieces with the BULL OF THE RING BEING A MONSTER TONED RAW 1955-D that IF he has certified and IF the services are not ragging on that day should grade no worse than a 65 and COULD SELL for GOOD MONEY! HOW DO I KNOW? Probably because I have sold many such RAW pieces for in excess of $50 and certainly more than $100 for certified TONED 65s. Besides that ONE coin he received 6-7 others. I WOULD THINK HE WOULD BE SATISFIED AND THAT IF HE WERE NOT HE WOULD TELL ME. I would deem the swap a nice one with (all tolled) all being fair.

DJCoinz received an NGC 64 1932 Washington Quarter and a NGC 65 1955-D toned Washington Quarter. I could sell these 2 coins ALL DAY - EVERYDAY for $200. I received an ICG 67 1956 and ICG 67 1957 Washington Quarter which amount to a couple of PCGS 65s with one going possibly 66. HE'S A YN WITH A LOT TO LEARN so I had him send a pretty, RAW 2005 ASE. He threw in a circulated 1945 Mercury Dime and a Canadian Quarter.

IN NO WAY was this an equitable swap BUT he is a YN and I wanted to make SURE his FIRST SWAP was a GOOD ONE. OK - so I LOST HERE BUT I DO NOT CARE. I was more concerned with BOTH MY PARTNERS BEING CONTENT MORE THAN MYSELF! DID I GET BURNED? I am satisfied with MY actions and being an understanding, fully grown MAN, I accept what I received very graciously.

NOW IS WHERE WE ARE ABOUT TO GET SOME THINGS STRAIGHT ONCE AND FOR ALL!

I HAVE NOTED that some peoples' swaps were NOT too equitable and ONCE AGAIN people are PMing ME, VOICING THEIR DISPLEASURE WITH WHAT THEY RECEIVED! HEY! THIS WAS WHAT STAGE 1 - COMMUNICATION AND COMING TO TERMS WAS ALL ABOUT, ARRIVING AT A FIGURE AND AGREEING UPON WHAT STANDARDS THIS BASIS WOULD BE FOUNDED!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME OF YOU? WHAT IS SO FRIGGIN HARD ABOUT THE AFOREMENTIONED AND/ OR GETTING BACK IN TOUCH WITH YOUR PARTNER AND LETTING HIM KNOW HOW YOU FEEL? If you're NOT happy with the Swap, send the damned coins back! IS THIS KINDERGARTEN or A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WITH MARGINAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS, AT BEST?

Some have NOT come to the Boards with Shipment Dates OR Delivery Confirmation Numbers. That won't get it!

Some don't post a THING and THAT DEFINITELY WON'T GET IT EITHER! ANYONE COME TO MIND?

Some people are dragging their butts. GET SOME COINS TOGETHER, I DON"T CARE IF IT"S MINIMAL AND LET'S GET WITH IT!

THE VAST MAJORITY OF People were great about signing up and sending me information now kept on file. THANK YOU.

MOST were good about posting regarding Initial Communications.

MOST were very Good about posting Delivery Confirmation Numbers TO THIS THREAD. THANK YOU.

SOME DID NEITHER - NOT GOOD AT ALL. I have no DC#, no input in some cases and in others I have disappointment on one side and FAILURE TO RESPOND TO MY FOLLOW UP CALLS, that REALLY SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY TO BEGIN WITH IF THE SIMPLE GUIDELINES WERE ADHERED TO.

OK, so I get a few PMs from people complaining to ME about what they GOT vs WHAT THEY SENT. It is apparent IMMEDIATELY that there OBVIOUSLY was a Communication Breakdown. REMEMBER THAT I TOLD YOU ALL THAT YOU ARE NOT FREE TO DO WITH AS YOU PLEASE WITH WHAT YOU RECEIVE UNTIL THE SWAP WAS POSTED HERE THAT IT WAS MUTUALLY ACCEPTABLE!

Step #1- GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH YOUR PARTNER IMMEDIATELY AND LET HIM KNOW - NOT ME! DO NOT come complaing to me until you have tried and failed at least twice!

STEP #2- IF YOU HAVE DONE THIS and I TRY TO CALL, WITH THE INFO YOU GAVE ME and you FAIL to call me BACK... if I try AGAIN, TO NO AVAIL and THEN resort to PMs being unanswered and then email ...GUESS WHAT? NEXT TIME I GET A HOLD OF YOU WHETHER HERE BY SURPRISE OR ELSEWHERE YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME SERIOUS EXPLAINING TO DO.

SHOULD THAT FAIL I WILL HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE BUT TO OUT YOU PUBLICLY AND WHEN THIS GOES DOWN DO NOT EVEN ACT SURPRISED. HOW CAN PEOPLE MAKE SOMETHING SO SIMPLE SO DAMNED DIFFICULT?

LOOK AROUND AND TAKE NOTE. WHO HAS NOT POSTED A THING? WE HAVE A PROBLEM AND IT IS ABOUT TO ESCALATE - NEEDLESSLY. Not only THAT but FAILURE TO POST A THING NOW HAS A SEASONED SWAPPER READY TO DRAG UP.

I was under the impression the The Common Sense Rules of Coin Swapping are SIMPLE ENOUGH! THEY ARE IN PLACE FOR THINGS EXACTLY LIKE WHAT I AM REFERRING TO. EVERYONE - LOOK AROUND - LOOK AT YOURSELVES! Have you gone by Protocol, down the Line, EXACTLY BY THE BOOK? I am going to practice Patience and give a few people benefit of doubt being it's the 4th of July. HELLO....FATHERS DAY HAS COME AND GONE!

If you HAVE NOT COME TO TERMS and it just is NOT possible to, then STATE, "UNABLE TO COME TO TERMS" ON THIS THREAD! I have MORE than enough REAL WORLD ISSUES to deal with than nonsensical BS/ BABYSITTING.

Thus far I have an "A" List for the SUPERIOR SWAPPERS, a "D" List for Draggers and an "SH" List for people that are about to have the BOOM lowered on them and BOYZ, I am NOT winking!

I NEED a break! Enough for NOW. CHEW ON IT & LET'S GET IT DONE.

I WILL BE BACK AND I EXPECT THE FEW SIMPLE GUIDELINES TO BE ADHERED TO. IF YOU GAVE ME PHONY INFORMATION AND FAIL TO RESPOND TO ME OR YOUR PARTNER .... I ASSURE YOU (ANYONE OF YOU) .... YOU WILL NOT LIKE IT WHEN THE BOOM GETS LOWERED ON YOU.

ENOUGH FOR NOW - TIME OUT!
  • as far as this old dog is concerned- he is satisified with his swap- and hopes his partner is satisfied as well..

If these SWAPS are going to become a hassle for some people-PLEASE do not participate

Boom arranges swap partners- "HE" is not responsible for your swap partner- "you are"

We are all people with the same hobby- treat each other as such

Remember this is a hobby swap not a get rich quick swap

I for one swapped a modern coin along with some others for two half cents, I am very pleased with the swap.

Being a newbie once I have probably shorted people and people have shorted me in my opinion but why get mad over a friendly swap.
If you don't like what I send you let me know and I will send yours back and you can send mine back. It is that simple. "DON"T LET ANGER FESTER"

This is one of the coins I sent out
    imageimage

yes it is a 1/10 ounce Chinese Gold Panda

Don't short your partner- I try not to short mine

Thank you Musky1011 and NO, bigtime36 you certainly did not. I would have told you if otherwise.

I am genuinely concerned whether or not YOU are happy. I want YOU to be happy, too.

I am very easy to please but have a low tolerance for people that are thoughtless.

People, this IS SO SIMPLE. TREAT EACH OTHER WELL AND COMMUNICATE.

If you are following me here, we all need to FINISH WHAT WE START and make sure OUR PARTNERS ARE

    SATISFIED!

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY UNFINISHED BUSINESS OR GRIEVANCES TO AIR?

IF ANYONE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR PARTNER'S OFFERINGS BY ALL MEANS DO TAKE IT UP WITH ONE ANOTHER!

DO NOT PERMIT ANY SENSE OF BEING SCREWED OVER FESTER INSIDE.

IF YOU CANNOT COME TO EQUITABLE TERMS & ARE INCAPABLE OF HANDLING YOUR SWAP.... IF YOUR OWN EFFORTS FAIL, THEN LET ME KNOW. THIS IS THE REASON FOR POSTING #s etc SO THAT I CAN BE AWARE OF ALL THAT IS GOING ON AND TO SEPERATE THE MEN FROM THE BOYZ!!

    THANK YOU! image

    Hi,

This swap was great! BrDude sent an awesome 1834 Bust Quarter that went straight into my 7070! That plus a really nice BU Frankie, a BU DDO Wheatie, and some MPC's as a bonus put a huge smile on my face!

Boom, "Thanks' for organizing this...it was fun and I appreciate it!

You're Welcome but one last piece of business needs to be attended to. As you started, NOW check with each other and ask yourselves if this was truly equitable. If so - let each other know. If NOT - let each other know and shoot straight with one another, OK? image

The same goes for EVERYBODY. This IS that Grey area that we need to work on because I otherwise have NO way of knowing. OK? image

Everyone .... be honest with yourselves and with one another. Put the icing on the cake for everyone.!image

For the record: Thank you aija for your report on your swap. It IS appreciated.

People, how can I be expected to keep Progress Reports, rate swappers and in general (just know WHAT IS GOING ON) or HELP you with issues if you do NOT give me information ON EACH & EVER SWAP.... even NON SWAPS?

    Geeeez! image

Let's see now .... how much does this Job pay again!?imageimage
  • For the record, I've double-checked with eyoung429 through PMs, and we are both quite satisfied with how our swap went - no issues here! image
