Brett, if these were bought from CNG, what were their grades?

Nice coins. I have thought about collecting British Imperial coins and if I do it will likely be Queen Anne issues. I think they are neat.

Hmph. Mine apparently are still in the janitor closet or some other black hole of no return.

Sounds like some sweet stuff you got back! Were you satisfied with the grades?

good pictures and accurately graded... the 1700 6d has alittle haymarking which is typical. These can have a PL surfaces. Are there signs of hairlines? A BB may have been alittle harsh

CK wins the Captain Obvious award. image

Well, without seeing it, I would say it appear closer to 63/64 per US standards. And CK is quite correct, these do often come nicely semi-PL to PL (the haymarks tend to be the biggest obstacle in the silve minors from this period). IMHO, PCGS's great shortcoming is not going into some added detail explaining why they think a given coin has been "cleaned".

Anyway, nice looking group of early milled silver. image

Coinkat, I don't see any hairlines. I think it should have slabbed.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.image

I always wondered if you had that one graded. I'm happy to hear it did well, this one is probably going to NGC as well.

I agree. Try again on the 1700 6d if you must have it in plastic. Otherwise, sell it to me. IF I can afford it which I probably can't. image
