I though Mcgwire tested positive for some stuff that was over the counter, but then was banned from being sold. F'in Christ Bonds admitted he did 'Roids, how is there an arguement whether he did or didn't?
There are 2 issues with whether taking steroids and HGH are cheating. First they cause harm to your body. Confusing the issue of BGH with HGH is not helpful. Bovine Growth Hormone is giving to cows to make them grow faster and produce more milk. Alot of consumer groups are trying to ban its use due to the issue that it might cause health issues long terms in humans (recent SCIENTIFIC studies show this is not the case so far). Secondly, since they cause harm to your body some players won't take them and therfore it is not a level playing field. There is a third issue, called the law but since when do rich people follow that.

Well, using the high protein diet analogy, too much of anything is bad. It is recommended that a person shouldn't consume more than 40g of protein at a time because it can cause kidney damage. From talking to people, I've heard that you can push that number up to 60g or 80g without hurting yourself. If you really push that number and start adding in large amounts of creatine and other legal substances, you can see considerable muscle growth but it's at the expense of your health. So some players would choose to that that and others wouldn't, so they're not on a level playing field even with legal substances.
When and where did Bonds ADMIT to taking 'roids? His trainer said he gave him The Clear - which was a type of roid, but Bonds thought it was something else.
Now maybe that is a slippery slope, but Bonds has never admitting to knowingly taking 'roids.
I find it hilarious that anybody who has actually watched the game of baseball over the last ten years would seriously question as to whether Barry Bonds actually took steroids. That's a good one.
When and where did Bonds ADMIT to taking 'roids?
Of course, Bonds will never ADMIT to taking steroids. Cheaters rarely feel the urge to tell the truth, just look at finger-wagging Raffy up on Capitol Hill, the weeping Mark "I'm not here to talk about the past, just the kids of tomorrow" McGwire and Sammy "You no hablo Ingles" Sosa. That is why the Feds are looking to indict him in the first place, for lying under oath during his bogus BALCO testimony. At least McGwire had the brains not to lie under oath.

Suuure, Barry Bonds, one of the greatest baseball players in the game, just takes something his trainer gives him and he has no idea what it is.

Again those are Bonds' words, not mine. Nothing will ever happen realated to Bonds with Balco, his testimony or a positive drugtest.
My bad, I was under the impression that you actually believed his words, too.
I wouldn't be so sure that "nothing will happen" with regard to his testimony in the Balco case. The Feds are known for taking their sweet time, and frankly, I think the game, or rather, the institution, of baseball may be bigger than the case itself at this stage.

<< <i>Big Mac, by the way was a pretty good firstbaseman........
BB Reference stats show his pct was .993 as opposed to the league average at the time of .992, his range was rated as 8.79, well above the league average for his time of 7.17
And he was not just a very good homerun hitter, no one in the entire history of MLB, not Ruth, nor Bonds, ever homered as frequently per at bat than Mark McGwire over a full career.

Agree with Jaxxr,Halosfan and Wabbitwax. Mac was a great hitter and brought a lot of fans back to baseball in 1998-1999.
