Nice work! Why are you going to stop carving coins? The pics you post of your work are some of my favorite pictures i see on these forums!

Nice work. Is it a lettered edge or plain edge variety image? How long does it take from start to finish? Do you work from a sketched plan or does the design simply develop as you're carving? That is a unique tallent Bill.

It,s a lettered edge, carving a coin takes from 2 hours to 25 hours, it depends on the detail.. The image was in my head and i carved it onto the dollar..

I recognized the MVC prefix to your jpg file as Sony's

My first digital camera was a Mavica with this prefix.

I didn't know that Sony kept the naming convention with later camera's

I am sorry to hear you need to quit carving, but only you know what is best for you. I can imagine it can be hard on the body. I do/did metalsmithing for many years and can no longer bear to do it.

At any rate, your Washie carving is cool as can be. Thanks for posting it.

What do you use to engrave the coin. Is it an exacto knife or pocket knife or electric engraver?

I the same tools as gun, jewelry and knife engravers use...
