I,ve slowed way down on carving coins and plan to quit carving coins after this year, but i had a strong urge to recarve a 2007 washinton dollar, so here it is...

Nice work. Is it a lettered edge or plain edge variety ? How long does it take from start to finish? Do you work from a sketched plan or does the design simply develop as you're carving? That is a unique tallent Bill.
There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. The other is by debt. –John Adams, 1826
It,s a lettered edge, carving a coin takes from 2 hours to 25 hours, it depends on the detail.. The image was in my head and i carved it onto the dollar..

I am sorry to hear you need to quit carving, but only you know what is best for you. I can imagine it can be hard on the body. I do/did metalsmithing for many years and can no longer bear to do it.
At any rate, your Washie carving is cool as can be. Thanks for posting it.

I have been a collector for over mumbly-five years. I learn something new every day.
I think you should keep up with each new presidential issue. You will have a much better collection of dollars and better looking! It will make a very nice collection.

Did you take the pic with a Sony Mavica?
I recognized the MVC prefix to your jpg file as Sony's
My first digital camera was a Mavica with this prefix.
I didn't know that Sony kept the naming convention with later camera's
I'd say don't give up carving them.
Your real good.
