New member with a question

Greetings. I stumbled onto this fourm about three weeks ago. I have enjoyed very much the information and insight you all have put in messages on this fourm. I and my wife are avid collectors of coins and stamps. coins are our first love. I have a couple of coins I want to see if you all would look at but I see the upload limit is 50K is there a way aorund that as some of the pictures I have seen on here have to be over 50K in size. Any help would be appreciated and thanks for the chance to belong to this fourm.

I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

The images you see posted that are over 50k are hosted and linked from another server, not CU.

It's tough to offer any kind of grade assessment from those pics. Do you have images that are more coin, and less white space?

    Welcome aboard... enjoy... Cheers, RickO
  • Looks like a nice coin, maybe if you can get a closer shot and crop the picture to remove the white space as Russ mentioned it would make it easier. May take a little playing around with the software if you are not familiar with cropping. It does appear to have luster in the reverse shot.

If that coin is authentic, it is a very pricey piece. AU condition is over fifteen grand. The best way to tell is to have it authenticated and graded by a third party grading company. Fortunately , you're here. When it comes to five dollar half eagles with incuse design, PCGS could tell if it is authentic and not cleaned or damaged. If you weigh the coin and find that it meets certain criteria, I'd get it slabbed. It's a hot one !
How is the detail on the shoulder feathers of the eagle ?
    Welcome here, by the way.

Welcome, and if that coin is authentic, it's a gorgeous (and expensive) coin. Closer pictures would be great!
