Grading terminology...ANA standards

Does it bother you, or make you hesitate to purchase a coin from a dealer or another collector when they use "Extra Fine" instead of "Extremely Fine" or...."Almost Uncirculated" rather than "About Uncirculated"....in their description? I know it seems silly, but when I read the ANA standards, they seem to agree that one is correct, and the other should never be used...and I often see XF-40 and not EF-40...so to steal the phrase from many of you that have used it in the past....what say ye' the forum???

It's semantical, I think. Only the number at the end matters.
Man, I was just thinking about this the other day. Sometimes it makes me wonder if most people know any better than to use XF or Almost, instead of EF or About.
I try to use the correct terminology, but seems like everybody else wants to use the old terms.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

True...it just bothers me...same as when I see "XMAS", hear people say "ATM machine...PIN number or the classic one...VIN number!!! I guess that they just don't get along very well with my type A mind!!!
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Obviously, that topic was not covered on the SAT test.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

The name is LEE!
<< <i>Doesn't bother me at all. If I want the coin and the price is right I don't really care what the dealer/collector/seller calls it! >>
