It is : "History of the United States Mint and its Coinage" by Davie Lange. Very informative and intesting book! If anyone wants, I can post some scans of the pictures. The part I found most interesting were the models who posed for some coins were pictured.

Yes, it's a very nice book to read on a nice warm summer day. Like today image.

I just picked up the bookUnited States Gold - Counterfeit Detection Guide and I just love it. For anyone who collects or doesn't collect gold coins, this book is a must have. The pictures are just absolutely amazing and they go through with you how to detect counterfeits. My only wish was that they included more coins.

There are a lot of new, interesting numismatic books out there. Most will enlighten, some will broaden your hobby interest and some might save you from buying a fake.

You’ll learn a lot more from $100 spent on books than from $100 spent on a coin.

In July, at the Dahlonega Gold Museum's "TRIBUTE TO GEORGIA AUTHORS," Bill Fivaz will talk about how to spot a counterfeit gold coin --- hopefully before it enters your collection!

For more information, see the Museum's calendar of events.
