Thanks for the contest.
Nobody got my "ONLAF REX" coin, unless you want to award it to dan8402 - he got the country right, but missed the particular coin:
Norway 5 kroner 1995 for millennium of Norwegian coinage. I liked it so much when I spotted the pic in Krause, I went and bought one off this guy.
I don't think anyone got dan8402's "Juan Peron", either. Dan was first to post an unidentifiable, so deserves the prize for this section. C'mon, dan, let's see it!
Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one. Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations"

Tbirbe56 had the answer I was looking for. Juan Peron wasn't actually on the coin, but Argentinian coins were issued under his rule in the name of General San Martin. His wife also had coins of her own.

Anyway, to keep this contest going, here are some more from me.
Guilelmus II Imperator
Kepulauan Riau
Josef Tiso (I'll need the denomination for this one)
Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations"
Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD.
<< <i>Yup, but that Chinese one's a Chinese alligator. Reckon Satootoko gets the point for that one.

Margrethe II

Right for the first two, not quite for the last one. It needs to be a coin that shows the name.

Ok, how about the 1939 Slovakia 20 Koruna? It has the same picture, but adds the name.
<< <i>Margrethe II >>
Denmark.
OK, I have another one: Onlaf Rex. No, it's on a modern (20th century) coin, not a mediaeval.

British 2 Pence, even though its obviously not an English term. It is German for "I Serve".

Denmark.

Thats a hard one, all I'm finding right now is a 1979 Norway 1 Krone, with a slightly different inscription, although the same person.
Edit: a lot of Norwegian denominations picture Olaf, Anlaf, Onlaf, or however it is pronounced on any given day.

Meant to say Andorra not Namibia
<< <i>Well that was too easy.

I don't think it was too easy. It took me quite a while to figure out all of those, and I still didn't get them all.
Please give me a day to get squared away and slog through some very interesting posts. I really enjoyed the knowledge posted!
