eBay feedback question

nencoinnencoin Posts: 1,284 ✭✭✭✭
For any of you advanced eBay users out there, do you know of a way to leave feedback for an OLD eBay transaction? I think eBay typically allows 90 days to leave feedback, but I have seen the feedback option available for even longer than that. However, I would like to try to leave feedback for a transaction from November of 2006. The auction can still be pulled up, but the leave feedback option is gone. I thought perhaps someone out there might know of a trick to access feedback for old transactions.

Someone backed out of an eBay layaway purchase (they didn't even bother to tell us...he just ran for the hills, stopped returning emails, phone calls, etc), and I want to leave them negative feedback. Otherwise, their current 100% positive feedback rating will possibly fool sellers who in the future might consider giving this person layaway terms on an eBay purchase. And he's currently active on eBay right now - still bidding away.

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows of a 'trick'.

Chris

  • Look at the page the auction was won on and if you are signed in and have completed the prior steps, there shoud be a leave feedback button at the top. I have used this when it didn't show up in other places.

If you try it and it works, please update. Thanks.image

Unfortunately, all the typical action links are gone (while signed in). Only option available is to relist it. One thing that IS different about this auction versus just about all of our others is that this was a Make an Offer auction. Not sure if that's the reason why the typical action links are gone, or if it's simply too old of an auction to do anything about. Bummer - because this guy sure deserves a neg. Thanks anyway, BlackBeard.

I've never been able to leave feedback for sales older than 90 days....let me know if there is a way...

You can post feedback for auctions that are many months old if you access the item via your MyeBay page then click on Feedback and find where you can list with the auction number, a single feedback (single feedback form).

It's been a few weeks since I've done this and what with all the changes eBay has made over the last few months it may no longer be available, but I'd think it's worth checking out.

Here's the page (if it actually LINKS for us...)

    eBay single transaction feedback form

Edited to add: I see that doesn't work after I log out.
Again, go to your feedback page on MyeBay and where it states leave feedback click that and then you'll see, to the right, a form you can click to open that'll allow you to leave feedback, again, that is very, very old (up to a year I've heard although I've never had to go back that far).

    Good luck!

Braddick, that worked! Thanks a bunch!

I imagine it will only be a matter of days (if not hours) before I get my reprisal negative feedback...the bidder didn't seem to want to respond to mailed invoices, emails, and phone calls, but I suspect negative feedback will suddenly wake him up.

Thanks again for the help, Braddick. Good find.

The bidder may not be able to figure out how to leave feedback after 90 days. Let's hope so. And if he does......you can also leave a rebuttal to that as well. That's 2 sets of negative comments for the price of one.
