1984-85 7-11 Hockey Discs

Hate 'em!

I have 60. Thought it was a set but there is no Lemieux.

Is he in the set?

Yup those are the one's Bob. No lemieux these started coming out the year before him I beleive 1984. He was 1985. There kind of an odd set but have alot of sentiment for me as I drank hundreds of sugar shakes to get them and plaster all over my parents fridge. They really were not happy but thats another story. I will have doubles coming up in the next month or so as I have another full set of 60 in for grading if your interested in starting the set just drop me a line. If not I would be interested in your ungraded one's to buy.

What's with the ST & MKs? Is that from sticking them to the fridge?

Hi Bob,
No the disc's on the fridge went to the dump with the fridge sad to say. Yes get yours graded and lets do some trading. I looked at all the discs before I sent them in and didnt see any stains or mk's at the time but guess they did and as you know thats all that matters. Im working on buying a third un graded set and will be sending it in as well if I get it. Hey do you know if PSA has the ability to grade the 4" disc gretzky card they sold as part of the set??

I'd guess they do. I had a few 73 macs milk which were about the same size.

Might be worth an email to customer service before you send it just in case.

Ah yes I remeber these. I had many a sugar fix gettimng this set and my dentist is now retired because of my brother and I. I will have to dig out mine from my parents place and see what I have. What ever happened to Tony Tanti. Great 3 years and then disappeared.

Alot of dentists were upset when this craze was over for sure. Can you imagine the baseball 7-11 disc collectors teeth I think they had four diffrent divisions to collect for alot more then 60 discs. Let me know what you have at your folks. As far as Tony Tanti he actually played from 1982-92 with four NHL teams Vancouver being the bulk of his NHL time. He ended up in Berlin playing hockey after that and finished in 98.

I put together several of the baseball sets one Slurpee at a time, brings back some great memories. The local 7-11 guy would let me search the cups for ones I did not have.
