I need to vent about a few things and I know you all can relate. I am sure I will leave out some so feel free to add some!!
1. Having a best offer option on your item and not responding to best offers (goes along with not responding to fantasy trades)
2. Team sets shipped in saran wrap only inside a bubble envelope
3. Small children at an 'R' movie (sorry fresh in my mind)
4. ebayers writing you asking you to leave feedback. I will leave feedback when I get to it. Keep on writing me and you are just pissing me off
5. Having to wait a month for an item to be shipped and then being told they were at a funeral (for a month? , they don't have the internet there?
6 People taking a picture of their card so all you can see is the light from the flash
That is all I can think of now, I am sure I can think of more soon!!! Thanks for letting me vent

1a) Mentioning the SMR or some recent auction price of said card in the listing which was NQ.
2) People who whine about their grades they recieved from PSA.--Look if your name is Fred start Fred's grading company and then your opinion will matter. Until then if you want PSA's opinion on a card then you will have to accept their opinion.
2a) People who slam other peoples cards which graded from PSA. How many times have you heard "There is a diamond tilt to it" or "I have a PSA 7 of the same card that I paid 1% of what the 10 went for and I am smarter." Look Fred you have a 7, his card is a 10. Your card is not better and is worth much less than the 10.
This one is controversial but these are my peeves.
3) People on the registry who have man crushes on certain players and collect only that player, and then bombard with information about that player that no cares about. Be a man collect a few sets that have 500+ cards in them and then I'll listen. The fact that you have the #1 Peerlees Price, Pepe Frias or Joe Blow HOFer collection does nothing to me. It's like people who bombard you with their vacation stories or Fantasy Sports teams. Hey Fred, I am glad you took a vacation or are in a Fantasy League but I don't want to hear about them, nor do I want to see and icon or trailer in your posts of some player.
4) I am going to buck the trend here. A person should not have to wait for a note to leave positive feedback. It is common courtesy to do it, and do it as quickly as you can. E-bay was founded with that as one of its principles. If you are happy with the transaction leave the guy positive feedback the next time you log in, PERIOD, END OF STORY.

My pet peeve is when people use the phrase "be a man" followed by anything other than the requirements of actually BEING a man.
Whether someone collects one player or every complete set ever produced, we're all in this for our own reasons. If you don't like what someone collects, that's your prerogative. However, if you don't respect their collections or the reasoning behind them, so much so that it BOTHERS you and becomes a pet peeve, well...that's just pathetic.

Somewhat similar:
I sold a Mantle and got this e-mail:
"hey ,whats happening still no mantle did you send it turtle express? thank you #### &&&&&."
I went to the PO (It was an insured parcel) and they told me they left a slip because no one was home. I sent the a guy an e-mail that a slip was left and got this gem of a response:
"sorry to run you around my kid misplaced the notice picked it up today great card ! THANX"

Ooh looks like I hit a nerve! By the way it was it my pet peeve, so I should have been politically correct and said BE AN ADULT, and get over your creepy fascination with players. By the way I don't disrepect anyones collection or reasons for collecting them. I just don't need to have thrown at me every time I post to this board. If you want to collect 1988 Donruss in PSA 1 have at it, I fully respect your right to do it. I'll help you with cards if I can. If you hit a milestone in the set let us all know about it, just don't make your bizarre idolization the center of the collecting world, because it is not.
Major League players are not your friends, they don't hang out with you, and if you had a tragedy in your family they would not be there for you. If your house is on fire they would not put it out. If your spouse was on the operating table they would not be doing surgery. They will not educate your children. If there is a burglar in your house they will not come by to help. If your car was broken down on the highway at 2:00 in the morning and Yount, Gantner and Molitor were driving on the same road, would any of them stop for you? They are people with an athletic ability to hit a baseball--PERIOD-end of story.
Gumby fan reading about your triple man crush trailer of some obscure stats makes my point ever so much more clearer. Also it makes the seventh game of the 1982 World Series that I attended so much sweeter.
So go watch another brat race, drink a Miller Lite light another candle into front of your Brett Favre and Bud Selig shrine and dream of your lifelong romantic ambition of having a threesome with you Laverne and Shirley.
<< <i>Collecting the Triumphant Trio - Robin Yount, Jim Gantner & Paul Molitor 6,399 combined hits as teammates - most ever!

Wow, I can actually picture you pounding your fists on your desk in anger as you saw that you were called out for being a jacka**.
Now that I've pinpointed your intellect, I'll happily point out that although I collect 3 players who played together on my home team while I was growing up, that I'm not delusional by any means about my importance in their overall existence. They don't know me and I don't know them. Never claimed anything different. Also, your knowledge of Milwaukee events is amazingly spot on. You did, however forget to mention The Fonz. As for your memories of Game 7, I really couldn't care less if you got busy with your ticket stub from that game if that's what gets you off.
Creepy fascination? Nah...just a collection. Read into it what you will.

Classic!
it must be great to be you first the farrah-fawcett poster, then the luke skywalker poster, then the one of michael jackson (i bet you have some regrets about that one) followed by bo jackson, michael jordan, shaq, brandi chastain in a sports bra (like that would ever happen) and now brian winters. have fun with that.
the topic was pet peeves. i declared mine. out of lack of first amendent respect a couple of you had to go jesse and al on me and get personal by calling me names-so be it.
by the way the rule on this thread was instituted for a reason. i know math may not be everyones strong suit but reread the thread. in most of the world 426 x 266 is larger in size than 200 x 400. Sig Line Images. don't worry, i won't snitch on you. i know some of you have certain needs.
so flame away with your attacks this will be my last visit to this thread so i will never read your response. i don't care what you say and if you are in love with some athlete, well if you are both consenting who am i to tell you no. it is ironic that i get a lot of flack from you guys in wisconsin. at least favrefan1971 has a sense of humor about it.

Apparently there is an option for sellers to check to disable that pay all your sellers at once feature. I find that annoying!

"Really? I did not know that. What is the advantage to the seller for doing that?"
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
PayPal is a glitchy scam-machine that sits in wait to burn sellers.
By enabling the acceptance of "pay all sellers" payments, sellers
run the serious risk of accepting a payment from a scamster with
an "unconfirmed address." Items shipped to such addresses are
devoid of ANY PayPal "seller-protection."
That is why THOUSANDS of sellers do not participate in the "pay-all"
option.

It prevents shipping discounts or buyers from holding payment for auctions for several days in order to do them all at one time a week later. My guess anyway.

Actually if a buyer wants to buy more from you, they can "remove this seller's items" and they will be held until a later date. I really do not think that there is an incentive to not allow comibined purchases. I did not read anything about it here that would affect a seller negatively.
///////////////////////////////////////////////
A seller's choice not to accept payments from an "unconfirmed address,"
is over-ridden by a seller's choice to "accept bulk-payments."
Seller's who opt out of the bulk-payment scheme do so for no other
reason than to avoid chargebacks from scamsters using unconfirmed
addys.
PayPal's software does NOT exclude unconfirmed-addys from the
bulk-payment list of buyers.
For more than one-year, PayPal has claimed they are working on
the problem. It was allegedly fixed, but last week it was still
allowing unconfirmed-addys to glitch through the bulk-payment
option.
This problem is often discussed on the EBAY boards.

What a sad and angry person you are.
I guess I missed the memo that made you chief decision maker on what was acceptable for me or any other person to collect on this board.
What your tiny little mind can't understand is there is a difference between a fond memory of days gone by and idol worship. I have fond memories of going to Bucks games with my dad and Brian Winters was my favorite player. No different than Mantle in the 50's/60's and someone like a Lebron James today. So the fact that I want share my memories and pay tribute to someone I looked up to as a "KID" is no different than anyone else around here who likes or collects a certain player. I guess the part of your brain that stops you from saying stupid sh*t just to piss people off must be missing in your case. And the simple fact that PSA has hundreds of player sets on the registry shows that you are in the minority with your idiotic comments. Seems like there are a lot of us around these parts with "man-crushes".
