Poll: Do you own at least one QDB book?
QDB books are so ubiquitous that I think every collector, no matter what your specialty, must own at least one book by QDB. His books are sort of like bibles at hotels. No matter how run down or sleazy the hotel is, there is always a bible in the drawer. Similarly, no matter what the collector collects or how few books he might have, every collector has at least one QDB book in his library.
Just for kicks, I wanted to get an idea of how many members here own at least one QDB book, and more importantly, how many members don't own any (perish the thought). Feel free to comment as well, or publically admit that you don't own any.

I own at least three that I can think of, but neither one are books you wouldd guess I have.

Adventures, More Adventures, the new Obsolete book, and tons of smaller titles like Bedside Companion....
I consider it one of the greatest numismatic books I have ever read.

I have that book, and I must agree with you. And I also have the Companion series.

Believe it or not, I don't think I own ALL of the Dave books, but I've got a good most of them.
Finding a copy of High Profits from Rare Coin Investment in the German edition is tough. But they're all good -- even Wurlitzers seem interesting with Dave talking about them!

Try Ebay for the German book. I see them occasionally. I am hip to the QDB thing, but I don't think I would buy one of his Wurlitzer books.

I have 20 of his books and always looking for more.
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
The entire Companion series, the US Coinage/Garrett book, the US Gold/Eliasberg book, the Hodder/Bowers encased postage stamp book, Walter P Nichols, Compleat Collector, Commemorative encyclopedia, the Morgan and double eagle red books, Adventures with Rare Coins, Coins and Collectors, the Hoard book, the obsolete paper book, and last but not least the 2 volume silver dollar encyclopedia. Plus I probably missed some. I saw his Encyclopedia of Automated Musical Instruments in a used book store when I was in Chicago last week, but I didn't buy it.
And I'm shocked that over 20% of the people here don't have any of his books. Hopefully we have a lot of ancient coin collectors lurking on this forum.

Longacre, I see you have a rep for asking questions. This board brings 'em out in me, too. Speaking of which ( a book related question ) do you know which book Russ keeps referring to as the greatest coin book he's ever read?
raz
What would be really cool, is a QDB book wherein he answers all of Longacre's questions.
Dentuck, are you listening?
Who could live without the "Morgan Silver Dollars" book? I think I have one or two more but the titles escape me......
Great books indeed!

and my name is misspelled on all of them.
Some are very interesting & educational , but one is less than
fulfilling.

LOL! Is your name a tricky one?
Also, what's the less-than-fulfilling book?

My name tricky?? I wouldn't say so. It's the common spelling of
Shastakovichgurianbeshtopovich , but my friends call me Sasha!
The book was United States Type Coins and to me it did not have
much new, or in depth, information that would make it better than
other resource material.
