no clue about these things. Is it really a bit darker or is the color true on the photos? How about somewhere around choice AU? Did I say I have no clue?
My guess is that the coin has a nice original patina, and there is only a TINY trace of wear on the diamond. Typical mushy strike obverse from a clashed die. The coins is strong AU. It could holder AU62 if it has luster not revealed in the images. JMO

AU50. Strong detail but definite rub on the higher points and a flat, non-existant luster. Dull-Drab-lacking luster is very common on trimes even in MS grades. I can't be sure if it's been cleaned or not from the pics but I'm seeing some stuff on there that would have been removed by a recent cleaning so it appears to have at least toned over if it was cleaned in the past.
