Is QDB is the Elvis of Numismatics?
Do people go up to him at shows, and ask to have their photo taken with him, and do they ask for his autograph? I'm curious....
Philately will get you nowhere....

Does he dress like Elvis? Do teenage girls have posters of him?

Now from Longacres point of view... well elvis may be an understatement
<< <i>I do not recall them announcing that QDB has left the bourse to calm down overly excited teenage girls. And is there a numismatic cult that tracks QDB sightings? >>
There are people who do ask for QDB's, Ken Bressett's and Ron Guth's autographs, but their groupies tend to be older men and not screaming teenage girls.
I've heard that in the past there were people tracking Walter Breen sightings...then using that information to decide whether to or not to take their kids to a certain coin show.

Sure. Jesus was one of the guys on the crew who performed our lawn service when we were in Houston. And as I recall, he wasn't all that big.

Actually I think QDB is more like the Fred Rogers of the Numismatic World.
And from what I've heard, Laura is becoming the Elvis of the Numis World. Or should I say she is becoming the Elvira of the Numismatic World?

I see Breen as being the Michael Jackson of the Coin Universe.
"Wow, Dave Bowers live and in person". I should have asked him to autograph the auction catalog but it didn't cross my mind at the time.

When you think of "Sex and drugs and rock and roll" you think of Andy? Sick, man, sick.
There are far greater Blockheads in this business.
I wonder if QDB is getting a chuckle over this thread.

The turn this thread took is demeaning in my opinion. Hardly something to chuckle about.
<< <i>I must be getting old, because I had to Google Ian Dury to see who he was.

If so, I sure hope he understands my reference to Lennon's quote then and doesn't think he really comes off that way.

I remember that show! That is where I accidentaly kicked David Hall in the shin! Martin Paul was there too! And Mark Feld was working for Hall at that time!
