Gerald Ford

Does anyone know if the market is flooded with Gerald Ford autographs? I have had an autographed business card from Gerald R. Ford for over 20 years. After his death I've seen several variations of his business card on ebay. They were all pretty cheap. Fake?

I was under the impression that all presidents autographs were worth $100 + just becuase they were the president.

Can anyone explain what I observed?

Thanks!

  • Ford was in public service for decades. Sogned tons of things.

Nice guy, often tricked into signing blank sheets of paper or letterheads that later had writing added to them, like Nixon's Pardon, or a statement about the validity of the Warren Commission.

Maybe he signed cardstock that later had business card printing added, all of this is easily done on computers.

Then there are tons of fakes, and also autopens.

As a whole, his autograph is not that valuable, though the "pardons" and "Warren" letters can sell for a few bucks, Those in the know reralize these are invalid though, and they really have no intrinsic value. I wonder if the sale of them is even legal? They are basically forgeries, even if the Signature is genuine.

Thanks! I wouldn't sale my Gerald Ford business card anyways! He sent it to me after I earned the rank of eagle scout and wrote him a letter!
