An illustration of just how scarce 56,57, & 58 FB Roosevelts are.

So I am looking for undervalued Roosies to put in my World Series pot.

I notice the 1956-P in MS65FB is valued at $135.

Yet the 57-P and 58-P are valued at $35 and $30 respectively.

"Hey!" I think, "These are all about equally scarce! I will just buy ALL the 57 FB's and 58 FB's available, and when they catch up to the 56 value, I will have a nice profit!"

The trouble with my great plan: I was able to buy up the entire population for a mere $1360!!! (There are only 20 1957 and 22 1958 in 65 FB).

These coins (56-57-58) are truly scarce in FB in ANY grade. Unlike , say, the 63-D. An original roll of 63-D's will often contain several FB coins. BUT, they will usually be MS60-63 range. Whereas 10 rolls of 57's will not likely yeild a single FB coin in any grade.

So true, so true.......I've never looked, how does the 63P in MS65FB compare?

The 53-S is an interesting date as it has had 2472 graded and only 59 66FB and 8 67FB.

The 49-S has the lowest total pop in FB with a mere 31 Passing the 63P and 63D.

I think this is due to the '63 pair getting alittle recognition with its know scarcity.

    Just my humble opinion.

What would be more interesting, how many of those full band dimes are actually EDS examples?

I wonder how close that pop is to being correct. What with crackouts being what they are.

Early die state? What is the criteria for this? Is this a PCGS attribute?

QBert thats when the die's are fresh, after thousands of strikes they get a bit funky.
