<< <i>By my calculations Gary collected $14,055 from everyone involved in the rips not including the cost of his own lots. >>
Didn't he recently win (allegedly) a TV without needing to fill out IRS forms?

Not sure about the other low post count people but gumbyfan is a good friend of mine who was made aware of the boards by me. The funny thing is that he took my spot when I backed out of the last baseball pack rip. Sorry dude!
I was in for one lot of the 75 topps mini's (6 packs) I dont remember the amount of the purchase...but it was via paypal.....Was this one also a ripoff?
Buying Vintage Boxing...especially T218 and T220..email if you have cards you would like to sell.

That one was handled by Steve at BBCE so you didn't get ripped off.
You heard it here first- brianwintersfan and gumby are in cahoots. That's why I didn't get any Brewers or Bucks in any of my rips, huh? Please leave some Jim Gantner's for the rest of us.
100.00 postal money order for the 70's/80's rip. Like gem mint who posted, the packs were definately NOT on the up and up. When the first pack produced nothing but commons in PSA7 or less quality (as I posted after opening the pack), I declined posting anything else I ripped and waited to see what everyone else was posting. I saved all the wrappers, including the 84 Fleer which is reglued and still has the team sticker card glued to it and corner folds that cant be pulled apart unless you tear the wrapper to shreds...

While I am not defending Gary, 84 Fleer is one of the hardest packs I ever have opened. I got a bunch of 84F at the National in Chicago and all of them were glued like you talk about.

Zach. Your Paypal payment went to me as I organized that break. I don't think there are questions about the rip being on the level, but it was and Gary was not involved in organizing, collecting money, or shipping. That was all done by me and Steve Hart at BBCE. Gary went to the Break for some reason, maybe he thought he was a good face man for pictures.

Looks like PayPal got more than a few "item was not as described" claims and they have re-opened the investigation. Anyone who thinks they are owed a refund should file a PayPal claim. Here's the e-mail I got:

I'm here to question, not to inspire or build up. To live how I want, as I see fit, according to my values and my needs. Nothing holds dominion over me, I stand alone as the ruler of my life.
I just now realized that I had to escalate my paypal dispute to a claim. I did so listing this site as a reference, with the seller's admission that the packs did not come from the source that we thought we were paying for, and the strong possibility that all of the higher value packs were resealed , also not giving us a chance to pull the hi-value cards we thought we were paying for. If anyone is pursuing other legal action, I still have my packs as shipped from the earlier complete 80's rip as well as the football rip (except for the musty 78 pack which I did open, figuring that they were moldy crap. I always questioned why someone with such an impecable reputation as Steve would not have caught the 78 box , which must have smelled pretty rank x36. Now we know why, huh? I'll keep you guys posted on what happens with the paypal dispute, and I'm sure others will too. I'm glad to hear that JasP24's claim was reopened. Maybe there is still some hope. Lucky you! My dispute for the late 70s early 80s baseball rip was deferred because it was 49 days after payment. Oh well...
I think we all know what the answer to that question is.
