1921-S Buffalo nickel--tough date!

I purchased this in the old green holder. I don't see it as an upgrade, but certainly as a very solid piece. The luster is fantastic, and the splotchy, random nature of the coloring shows character. The obverse strike is terrific, the reverse less so. It was difficult to photograph this coin real well.

Have you been hitting the driving range? I look forward to lifting a few bucks from you when the season starts.

No golf since early November, so you're in great shape. I'll give you four strokes a side, and we'll bet your collection against mine.

Just look at the lustre and clean fields on the OBV., and the REV for that matter.
Great colour, and yeah, the strike on the Rev. is soft(head and cape), but hey.....who cares, it's a MS 21-S!
another beautiful Buff!
Gosh, I still can't get over those OBV fields, that thing must blind you.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
My uncle gave me a F 21s in the 1980's when I was about 15.
I later sold it to a dealer for roughly $10, along with a few others (including a 26s Merc), for party funds as a senior in high school.
To see the prices these fetch now, jeezum, I'm still kicking myself.
I've become a hoarder as a result, a widget black hole.
I enjoy your posts and pictures, you have a great eye.
The reverse looks like it was "melted", but hey, I'm NOT being critical of that coin.
Too bad it was not mated with a fresh reverse.
It would probably have gone 66 minimum.

<< <i>Your coin is properly graded. While 21-S does come with better reverses than yours, it is indeed the obverse that carries the coin to 64.

I agree, Pete. Wish I could play "mix and match," this obverse with an exceptionally nice reverse. I could retire--well, pay the house off, anyway.
