Have a li'l bit o' color!

NEWP, courtesy of FilamCoins. The pictures capture the color but not the lustre. More lustrous than pics imply.

Obverse is "Meh..." but LOVE that reverse!

Thanks! I like the toned pieces because (1) the color really makes each piece unique; there's nothing wrong with a pristine white piece but after a while they all start to look the same IMO, and (2) the coins don't have to be pricey or rare to have that "WOW!" factor.

A seemingly common junkbox coin can be transformed into an attractive and in-demand piece if the coloring is right.

One of my favorites is the coin below. It's a $20 coin at most, but the toning just absolutely makes the piece.

Yep, a wonderful and unexpected gift from a very thoughtful Laurent, who had noticed my interest when he first posted it. It resides in a special album with coins exclusively from members of this forum, giveaways, gifts, and a few purchases too. image

BTW Laurent, I expect these Austrians that I won last night to be as colorful as this one. image

edited to add the link, I liked the original packaging too and quite frankly I didn't expect to win it.

Imagine my embarrassment; I didn't recognize your eBay handle when I answered your post-auction e-mail, sorry. And thanks!
