Santa Rosa, CA Coin Show This Weekend

If you are from Northern California there is a pretty good coin show this weekend in Santa Rosa, CA. It's operated by the Redwood Empire Coin Club at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds adjacent to Highway 12. The show is from Saturday morning until Sunday.

This is a pretty good coin show and I plan on being in attendance on Saturday. Anybody here planning to go?

Count me in. Saturday for sure, probably not for Sunday though. There are several buildings at the Fairgrounds, the coin show will be in the Finley building. As you go through the turnstyles at the main ticket gate the building is in front of you to the left.

Thanks for that Will roll on up in the morning, although it will be very tempting to make a side trip to a winery on the way back.

I will be there on Saturday. Like JSsson stated, this show has been a decent show in the past.

No table, just walking around. I have been trying to get a table at this show, but there is a lengthy waiting list.

Does anyone know if "Coinsmart" of SoCal will be there? They are always at the San Jose and Santa Clara shows but this will be my first Santa Rosa show so I've no idea.

Oh, it's at the "Fairgrounds." Pass, I don't want to step around all the horse manure.

Tomorrow image I still haven't decided if I'm going back on Sunday or not. Might take the old lady out to meet some coin geeks.

OK, I'm gonna say what really was disappointing at this show today. Board member Lanlord. That's right, I know he's gonna read this but I can't hold it in. Board member Lanlord was acting very grumpy as of late. I recruited him into the ol'grumpy collectors club. Now I had to do some explaining to Dog97. We went to great lengths doing a background check, making sure he wasn't a dealer etc.

I met him at the last SF ANA show briefly. He seemed to be in a lot of pain. Now today, he looked good, was walking fine, all smiles, nice guy WTF?
I guess we're gonna have to re-evaluate his status. image Seriously though, glad to see you again Lanlord and it was a pleasure. You too Cladiator.
You even look like a specialist walking around looking to pick off those poor dealers. And thanks for holding me back from going off on those two dealers. They really chapped my hide.
    Heh heh

Yeah I should have let you off the leash for that dealer with the pony tail. That guy needs some people skills training, that's for sure.

Oh that guy? Naw, I gave him the people skills training at the Carson City show.image

Oh, for anybody that takes me too serious, I didn't need to be held back. I was a nice guy today. I hate it when that happens.image

  • If all of this is regarding the parking incident in front of the hall, I only witnessed it for a minute. I was a casual observer, and I don't know the whole story, but one of the show reps was way way out of line. It was appaling.

Some old guy with a handicapped license plate was illegally parked. One of he show reps was unbelievably WAY out of control! it was OK for them to tell him the guy to move. It was not ok to be spitting mad, screaming and yelling, and saying insulting things to the guy like "I'm going to get a hadicapped tow truck" PLUS, they had security there, let security do their job, don't let some insame wannabe from the show verbally attack the shows customers.

What was wrong with that guy? There were lots of kids at the show, and this kind of outrageous public display and temper tantrum is just totally unacceptable.

If I were in the club, I would get that club rep kicked-out of the club, immediately! Jerks like this only hurt this hobby.
