MS Brown - Part II - Uncirculated Lincolns

Which coin gets the higher grade and which coin do you think has the better eye-appeal?

Here is one that I bought sight-unseen from a very reputable dealer's website as a Raw MS65:

First one seems to have a better strike, but it might just be the lighting angle.

  • First one looks higher grade and better struck. But I like the color on the second one more.

    Both are very nice coins.
I like cheese, notes, and coins. In that order.

The 1919 is better because: Better strike, better luster, few less hits on obverse = better overall eye appeal. I would say 64 BRN still because of the reverse hits.

  • despite the slight fingerprint style toning on the bottom of the obverse, I like the 1919 better image

1st coin has better eye-appeal. 2nd coin looks AU. Neither coin excites me at all.

I agree with Paul...but the '29 has the better eye appeal, I think.

First coin is higher grade, despite a lack of redness... Cheers, RickO
