Anyone here collect gold ingots???

They seem to get more and more popular, especially after the ship wreck finds of the past decade. But who actively collects them?? How can they be collected anyway?

There are a surprising number of well-heeled collectors that go after these items now. Like coins, they can be collected in a wide variety of ways; however, the most popular way is to put together an S.S. Central America type set. The most interesting way would be to try and collect a 19th-century set with every known maker, including unparted bars and silver bars. That being said, there are probably only 5 people out there with the funds and inclination to take on a project of that magnitude...

I'd love to own one but they are way too expensive.
