I actually had a 1909-SVDB Lincoln in high grade which ended on Super Bowl Sunday a few years ago and it did very well. I wouldn't recommend listing items to end on the big football day, but I think anyone who really wants an item, will be sure to do what's necessary to get it.

If it involves a ball, I do not watch it... IMO a monster waste of time. Cheers, RickO

    Thanks for the reminder.

If I remember correctly I did OK with some smaller priced items last year but was careful not to list much. It seemed like there was little action at the last minute which is usually the best time for increased bids.

All the power to those who prefer to watch others play games and even get emotionally involved in it. Never understood it and even tried to like it before. Seems like a monumental waste of time, in a way different than this forum. Spectator sport is the opium of the masses.

No. Anyone over 40 should recognize it though. I like the way it points to my post (except for on replies).

I am somewhat surprised that e-bay didn't offer 20c listings today. I don't think there are too many people out there who would list.

Last year I was licking my chops hoping to score a couple coins on TT. No such luck. They both went for stupid money.

Yes. But use the software and you don't have to worry about the game or much else except having the money to pay for everything you win.

That is way too logical a statement for these times. I used to get all into any game with a ball, now I don't really care a bit, but watch them on occasion. I'd rather be hunting in the woods or searching for a pl/dmpl morgan.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

For those that don't care about the football/basketball/etc games, more power to you.
Sell your items to like minded folks.

For me, I like to make my items more readily available to anyone with the money to buy it. I don't care if they are a sportsnut or they hate sports.

I was almost going to list a few things (motherboards, CPUs, etc) but decided not to because of the Superbowl. I may watch it, I may not, but I know a lot of people will be (males, generally, and most of what I would list would be more likely to go to men)

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Thanks for reminding us, now that I have already listed 10 auctions, guess I should have checked here first...

For the unknown thousands that will be watching the
game ,unknown thousands will not be . Hey ,i'ts about
5 hours , and if the game is lopsided , unknown thousands
will flock to the bay and bid their frustrations . And if not,
you have over 300 other days to list your stuff .

OK, besides Sunday, what days work best? I have some stuff ready to go tonight for a week, should I change the duration to a 5 day (Friday before), a 10 day (Wednesday after), or reschedule it so it ends on ANOTHER day?
    Philately will get you nowhere....

Auction ending times have been discussed on many
different venues . I have never seen a chart or board
consensus on which day and hour are the "one" to
shoot for , but 4:15 eastern time on a tuesday morning
may not be a good choice . Unless the item you are selling
is the one a night watchman has been searching for.
However it is an interesting question , as I have a
super bowl item to list. As the previous poster asked ,
    before the game,during or monday?
Well , it's either after the game , when many are under
the influence , or monday when more will be bidding
rather than dozing the night before . Maybe I will
    decide by a coin toss?

    ya know............

With the Superbowl being played, there will be lots of people indulging in liquid refreshments to loosen their fingers on the keyboards on ebay. I for one, have found myself willing to "bid a little higher" than normal under these circumstances. image

Who knows...I might just need "That Special Coin" this Sunday and make some lucky seller VERY HAPPY!!! image
