It's not the "money" coin, but it isn't bad.
Looking last night, it is a ~$280-$350 coin on ebay.

With no 68s, you did pretty well.

I am contemplating sending in my unopened box of 5 sets that I have left....I just sold one on ebay for $1400 this weekend so I am trying to figure who what grades would make it worth it and which wouldn't......pure 69s would make it not really worth it, a few 70s would make it worth it, and 68s would suck.....so, it is good to see people's recent grades

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Nice coin for sure, but 20 MS69's(and zero MS68's) on the Uncs is super good....congrats!!!!!!

I was in a similar boat, I submitted 30 coins and only got 1 70 DCAM.

On the other hand when I sold the spare MS69's and Reverse proofs around christmas time they were bringing between $250 and $300. Pretty incredible for 69 grades.
  • At least you did not get any 68's. My first 10 yielded 1/2 of the Uncs in MS68.

Wow... good grades.. but only one 70... and some people got several with less submissions. Not sure what that means... but anyway, no 68's. Cheers, RickO

I'm surprised you didn't get more 70's on the regular proofs. You must have gotten yours from a run that had a blemish that wasn't caught by the press operator for awhile.

  • I ordered five sets.

    Four FS reverse proof 68's.
Three FS MS68 and two MS 69.

I ain't gonna complain. I was able to sell one of the FS reverse proof 68's for $150.00. I was able to recoup the cost of purchase and grading, make a small profit, and keep a FS 70/68/69 set. I know I should have kept the one reverse proof 69, but I only had one 69/69/69 set and had to sell it to get my money back. Business judgment rule. All those who got theirs later and got all 69's or even multiple seventies, I say bully for you. At least in this instance, getting them first (ordered in the first 30 minutes of sale, shipped fedex first day) may not have been getting the best.

I'm contemplating the same thing. I'm just sitting on an unopened box of a few sets and don't know what to do, send it in or just hawk it on ebay. Hitting a 70 on either proof would be sweet and well worth it, but getting 68s and 69s is about a wash. The curiosity is killing me though.

  • By the way, is there any evidence that sets received late were returns?

If mine were returns then smoeone sent back some purty nice stuff. The three I got and submitted were late shippers. I got two more after that, but sold em and paid for most of the last 5 sets I got.

  • My results were pretty similar. I just got grades in on 20 sets that I submitted--10 unopened and 10 opened (my blessed mother opened the box before realizing what it was-d'oh!-but I can't complain since she was kind enough to order them for me).

I am a little disappointed that I only got one Reverse 70 in a total of 30 submitted to this point, but at least I got one and I haven't had many 68's.

I am afraid that the cost of grading doesn't cover the results. Far better today to sell the sets as ungraded.
It's quite apparent that PCGS has tighten the screws on their grading.

    120 coins submitted in sealed mint boxes;

    20 reverse proof 69's
    20 reverse proof 68's

So how much do bulk submissions cost? I have a unopened box from the mint and trying to decide on bulk submission or open.

How do you go about bulk submission?
  • BECOKABECOKA Posts: 16,960 ✭✭✭
For bulk it is about $10 +/- a couple dollars depending on the coin and inserts you want for a 100+ coin submission with no more than 4 types of coins in that 100. You have to call the bulk department and find out if it qualifies.
  • DeepCoinDeepCoin Posts: 2,781 ✭✭✭
The bulk submission group will be grading unopened SAE sets. The cost is $14 a coin using the modern (non bulk) rate. I guess if you have 10 sets you can qualify for the bulk rate. Good luck.
