Fred Weinberg, You Handsome Devil!

Saw Mr. Weinberg on TV today as part of the program about "special" coins minted at the San Francisco & West Point Mints. It was a very informative program and showed them actually striking the Proofs, Gold and Platinum coins. It may have been a rerun and I couldn't tell you which channel it was on. But they had a lot of commentary on Gold & Platinum Proofs and Error coins by Fred Weinberg as well as a piece about how to tell fake coins from the real thing and also video taken at high dollar auctions and shows. Did anybody else see it? Very well worth the time to watch.

    Yeah, that is a repeat. Many, many, many times it has aired. I've watched it a handful of times.

    Thanks for the nice comments,
    but I've aged a bit in the past
    5-1/2 years.

    While everyone has been complaining
    about Global Warming, I've been
    complaining for the past 12+ years
    about another major problem -

    The Polarity of the Earth has changed
    in that time frame. My Proof???

    At the top of my head, I used to be thicker,
    and in the middle of my body, I used to be
    thinner.

    Now, due to the Changing of the Polarity of
    the Planet, I'm thinner on the top, and thicker
    in the middle !!!

    I know it's not my eating habits (yea, I love good
    dark chocolate, amoung other things), but it's
    the fault off Mother Nature affect on the planet itself !

    That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it ...........

    I finally caught the entire episode image I always missed parts of it ....West Point was incredibly interesting .

    From my university days and geology courses, the earth does flip its
    magnetic poles every so often (the period changes but it's in the
    range of 10K years). They figure this out by studying samples of
    the core of the earth! Wonder if this will affect the prices of mint
    coins this year? I would like to catch this show sometime soon... image

    Yes, I saw it. I enjoyed watching the inside the mint stuff, but the education about collectors was definatly not geared toward collectors.
