"Love is in the air" or "Little Love Shack" ....

Here's another early January outing... This one really cracked me up and I think my
wife helped me with the suggestion of this post's title... hahaha
I found an area with an old tree and next to it I found a 1917 dime. Looking up at
this huge tree, I began thinking how what we see today is not what the previous
visitor saw close to 100 years ago... For example, a branch that would've been
perfect back then to throw clothes over or pants is now much higher today. With
that thought in mind, you'll understand why I started laughing when I found the
other items that showed up during this hunt...
1 1917 Mercury dime
1 plain button with no back-mark info.
1 buckle
1 pistol ball
2 bullets
and here's the love connection...
2 "Merry Widow's" containers
My apologies if this post should have a PG-13 warning on it...

I remember the first time I dug one o' those, in an old schoolyard. Gold foil colored. 'Bout soiled meself at first- thought I'd dug a $10 gold piece.
<< <i> "Merry Widows" must've been a generic term for the umm... type of *ahem* prophylactic, rather than a brand name as I once thought. >>
From another detecting site:
<< <i>"Three Merry Widows, is what the three women that made them called themselves.
They cost 50 cents which was alot in the early 20th century when they were made, but they were made to be reused. The names of the widows are usually on the lid. AGNES, MABEL, and BECKIE. Thanks RobZombie for this info!" >>
<< <i>Re-used?!?

Good job with the theory Mr. Holmes.
