Oh DEER~~ !!!

I'm a little behind on posting finds for this month so I'll keep this short and let
the pics do most of the talking...

This is from a hunt during the first week of the month. (been a great silver month)

2 gold-plate match-stick holders
3 wheatbacks
"Good for 5c in Trade" + "Liberty Bell" token (anyone know what this token was from?)
1915-s Buffalo nickel
1909-s Barber dime
and, a first time wild-card entry? = a shed Deer Antler

Only shed antler I ever found was chewed upon by a herd of voracious rats.

    Re: Liberty Bell token

I found this token some time ago:

    (Image Deleted)

I wonder if the "Victory Bell" and "Liberty Bell" were bars.

I do not think these are casino tokens.

They look like an older type of token which might have been used in pinball games or juke boxes.

    "paradisecoin" just lists them.

I think Willieboyd is right. They might have seen some use in casinos, for all I know, but I think they were mostly the early equivalent of arcade tokens.

In fact, I've heard that sometimes shadier characters would cheat vending machines by using these holey 5c tokens. They'd plug the hole with something and sometimes attach a string so they could fish the token back out. This, I am told, was the origin of the terms "plug nickel" and "not worth a plug nickel".

I have one that says "OK Vender/For Amusement Only/Good For 5c", or something like that. I believe they are from the WW2 era or slightly before.
