Has anyone seen this one before?
It's a 2000P Roosevelt dime with a double die on the reverse.
In the pic you can see the double U and the plant but it is also on the B.
I have other pics but are too big for here. I can send them if someone can help.
My email is collins_sheldon@yahoo.com.
I also have (2) of the 1972 dbl dies and a 1960 all lincolns

Neat coin. Will be interesting to see some error-collectors weigh in.

You might consider getting some free space at photobucket.com so that you can post some additional pics....

I thought you already started a thread on this one. As a new member, you might want to read the forum rules as this appears to be a candidate for the Buy-Sell-Trade forum.

    hello
and no, I havent read through all the rules for posting. From what you wrote though I am assuming you can't repost.
I didn't get much help the first time so I thought I would try again.
Perhaps you know of a better site for me to go to get some info.
Coneca doest list that new of a coin at least for the dimes.
Sorry for breach of contract. lol Do you know of any good sites to sell things on, other than ebay?

Well, I would also like the technical term for this one.... Not a double-die... more characters would show doubling. It is definitely there .. so it must have some explanation. Cheers, RickO

I'm almost certain that isn't a doubled die variety. Initially, it appears to be simple machine double which command's no premium, but I'd have to see more of the coin.

Interesting coin. I can't really understand why the doubling is so extreme on the "U" and the branch but not on the adjacent elements.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

This is what makes variety collecting so interesting, something hard to figure out. At first blush, strike doubling on the stem, but not the leaf(?), and apparent real doubling on the U. Neat coin.

    Interesting but.....
that dot is too round--no doubling on this coin in my opinion. Die deterioration doubling with maybe a little mechanical thrown in also...
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

Actually, he did me a service, and the responses are helpful too. I have some rolls of this date fresh from my bank that I kept for posterity.

One question - if this is ejection doubling or machine doubling, does it mean that it only happened once, or does it keep happening for awhile until the maintenance adjustments are made?

I had a 1984 Olympic Dollar with distinct doubling at one time, and I was somewhat disappointed to learn about machine doubling.
