Sound advice Steve - wish I could say all my Mick's have great centering, though my '65 is off, like 60-40. Same with my '57, that one is a bear to find nicely centered! 1420sports, yours you just posted is a beaut!
I would say my 53, 56, 58, 62, 63 and 66 are all nicely centered though. The '65 really doesn't stand out as "off" until compared next to those. Live and learn!
One. The Mick autographed it at a McDonalds in the early 80s during some type of promotion. I got a couple of his autographs...and it was absolutely free!
Not a bad one to have! Actually that '57's a tough one to have had to sign, with a dark pen - looks like he did it about the only possible place! Cool card.
Assuming that last year's glut of Mantles put out by Topps doesn't count, I've got five: 1957 Topps #95 1957 Topps #407 1965 Topps Embossed 1965 Topps #5 AL RBI Leaders 1966 #50
This is the only one I have at the moment. It is authentic according to the very trustworthy local man that I bought it from and from PSA/DNA Quick Opinion. I just got it this week. It is going to PSA/DNA shortly for encapsulation.
Super cards everyone! Love the '52 (must keep convincing myself my reprint will do!) and the Venezuelan '59, not to mention the handcut Bazookas... great stuff.
As far as vintage goes, just one. A 1969 Topps checklist with Mantle's face on it. Got it for 10 cents, since it was in pretty poor shape. Would probably get a PSA 1 MK if I got it graded.
Like many here, I dream of owning Mickey Mantle cards. But with two kids at home and other hobbies (not to mention that I did not grow up in the era), I got what I consider the next best thing.
I got the whole 1996 Finest reprint set (1951 Bowman - 1969 Topps) in graded codition by either PSA or BGS. I completed it about three years ago and it took me about 2.5 years to complete.
The only other card I have is his 1961 Topps 565 foot homer card graded SGC 8x. Forgot exactly what it was.

1. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down 2. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, Chuck Norris can actually roundhouse kick you yesterday 3. There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris
Very nice fiveniner! Sweet Bowman rookie - mine will one day have to come with less sharp corners, but I hope for nice centering such as on your example.
Shoot, forgot to mention the one other Mantle I have that I'm not selling.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
This is a great thread... gotta love The Mick! I have about 18 Mantles, including LL and Combo cards, but sadly have none from the 50s (too darn expensive!). Here are a few that I am proud to own...

I mean, I *guess* those are OK. Too bad you don't have any Gem Mint 10s in the group...

I only have one also and hope to upgrade it someday but I'm very proud of the one I have. The only scan available had this "other" card in the scan with it

Boy, those are enough to put a big dent in my college savings debt for my kids.

I only have 2 vintage Mantles in my colletion. A 64 Topps advertisement panel which shows the back of Mickeys card as an example and my most recent purchase from a few weeks ago, the 61 Topps Team Leaders with Mantle, Maris and a few others in PSA 7.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

I just wanted to show some more "oddball" Mantle cards - this one is not mainstream since it comes from a Mantle board game.

Buying Vintage, all sports.
Buying Woody Hayes, Les Horvath, Vic Janowicz, and Jesse Owens autographed items
I'd rather have Willie Mays cards anyways.
WTB: 2001 Leaf Rookies & Stars Longevity: Ryan Jensen #/25
Unfortunately, I didn't make a file copy before I had it framed - so the glass is affecting the scan and I can't fit the entire thing on the scanner.
And also - this is the item I showed when I started this thread over a zillion posts ago!

This one came in a box from my mom - it was in the garage - I'm not sure who it belongs to - I believe it's my brother's card.
It's well loved and admired by everyone who touched it - since we carried our cards in our ass pocket back then...
This card was well loved by someone's ass.

Although I am not interested in collecting Mantle. I guess in a way, Darth Vader cards are like "mantle" cards to me.

I didn't see anyone post this one - well I did - I showed a family "beater" but here's one I just located when I was going thru my 63F BB set.
It's not terribly expensive but I like it.
