Sparky Anderson on Brooks Robinson's performance in the 1970 World Series "Damn, if we knew that he wanted a new car that much, we all would have pitched in & bought him one!"

I saw a catcher quote in thread, so here's mine---"Bob, how do you handle catching two knuckle ballers? I wait till the ball stops rolling and i go pick it up!"- Bob Eucker
One from Yogi Berra----during one particular playoff game the Yankee center fielder had a bad game with 3 errors. After the game in the clubhouse they had their usual pep talk on how to play better the next day. The young man with the 3 errors stood up and said--" next time it's hit to center, i say we let it roll and see if it goes foul".
I have another funny quote from Yogi Berra that was in a small story I was just reading about Warren Spahn. Here is an excerpt with the quote :
<< <i> In Spahn's final season, during his stint with the Mets, Yogi Berra came out of retirement briefly and caught 4 games, one of them with Spahn pitching. Yogi later told reporters, "I don't think we're the oldest battery, but we're certainly the ugliest." >>
I may be paraphrasing here, but I always got a good chuckle out of Harry Carey's characterization of the Chicago White Sox outifield of Carlos May (LF), Walt Williams (CF), and Tom McCraw (RF):
"We have 'No Thumb' in left, 'No Neck' in center, and 'No Arm' in right."
