News from the FUN floor - Registry set Roosies are Hot Hot Hot!

Silver Roosevelt dimes, a set that some would consider to be uninspired, seem to have had a very good day today at FUN in the Heritage sale. A collector and Board Member here had a number of his coins in the Signature Sale where they fetched close to pre-FB prices, appreciating in some cases close to 200% from auction prices last year. Most of the MS68's went for $2000+ and a few closer to $3000. A lovely 64P MS67FB sold for over $2000 after having sold some 6-8 months ago on Teletrade for $775. Perhaps this set is seeing some renewed interest! As a long-time Rosy set collector, I say its about time!

1964P67FB for 2000! Wow! I would have never guessed that one? Was it close to a 68?

I viewed this coin and watched the auction. CRAZY!!! Nice coin, but not worth what was paid. However, the fellow board members picked up two very nice Roosies. After seeing them I can say they were worth the price.

We sure did miss not having Craig there however.image

2K for a 64P! Isn't that like paying big bucks for a 45P Merc (another dirt common coin) because it has bands? imageimage

Besides that coin (64P67FB) list for 500. I would NEVER pay 4X list for anything but a super rare and hard to find coin!

The 64 MS67FB was not an upgrade candidate. The price was not cheap compaired
to other known sales. But, at $2000 it was still very cheap compaired to other
    denominations with similar pops.
