Don, if you're right, then "tamper-proof" holders really weren't tamper proof at all. Now, if that's the case, one thing the company could do is offer reholdering, in new, truly tamper-proof holders, at a discount, in the way that problem automobiles cars are recalled and fixed up, or Microsoft provides patches to Windows XP, free of charge. That is the spirit of a sound company with great integrity and caring for its customers. It stands behind its products.
PCGS is laden with integrity and has a deep commitment to its customers. Thus, I'm positive they would offer the reholdering at a nominal cost to folks who paid for slabs that were advertised as being tamper proof, but in fact were susceptible to the sort of chicanery you describe.

Whatever the problem is, Hall will announce that PCGS has a solution. And the solution will absolutely, 100%, dead-for-sure be one that generates revenue for PCGS. That's why there's a big drum roll beforehand--to generate attention and interest on something that will channel money to PCGS. I'm not implying at all that there's something wrong with that. It's just good marketing and smart business, and if it helps collectors along the way, so much the better. You're a wise old Bear. >>

It's only an issue with first generation holders. There's been no evidence of tampering with others.
