Carolina Coin

I just bought an inexpensive coin from them. They are an Ebay power seller with almost 20,000 feedbacks. The coin I bought was from their retail inventory. Anyone know anything about them?

Thanks, Wayne

They're pretty good from what I hear. They usually do a pretty good job at disclosing problem coins; although sometimes light cleanings aren't mentioned, the harsher cleanings usually are. I haven't bought from them, but I would if they had the right coin at the right price.

I've bought a few raw, much better date, circ. Morgans from them and been pleased each time. Their grading was very fair IMO, and they were highly candid in their disclosure of problems, etc. This isn't to say you or I will agree with them all the time (which I think is impossible anyway), but I wish every dealer was as forthright.
    When in doubt, don't.

She is local for me, does an excellent job disclosing problem coins, sells a lot of coins from very high end down to commons, will fix any problem if you have one, you will always be OK buying from her.

I've bought from them several times. No problems at all, smooth transactions. I'll buy from them again without a second thought.

They have been on my favorites list for a few years. One of the very few sellers I will buy raw coins from.

  • Carolina coin is a very good seller--she stands behaind her product--if you don't like it you get your money back--no hassle. Recently bought an 1818 CBH that I'm pleased with--check her auctions. If she knows a coin is cleaned she says so--and her photos aren't messed with.

Bought from them on Ebay and in person. Nice folks and good descriptions.

I had bought several coins off of them on ebay, had no problems. Then I won three auctions one weekend and got a minor rip- an AU58 PCGS 1903 Morgan in older holder for less than $50, guess what coin got lost in the mail? - even though they were all supposed to ship together. I got my money back, but when I mentioned about reporting the coins certification number as stolen, I got a please don't do that- it might have been accidentally sold to someone else reply. Since then I no longer deal with them.

I bought my 1909 for my Lib Nickel set from them, very pleased. They were easy to deal with, professional and have reasonable prices.

Jimmy is a very strong buyer at the regional shows, this is where they get a lot of the material they list. He is a real pleasure to deal with, and IMO does describe listings pretty accurate. In fact he purchased a bit of material from me at our local club show last month with one being a coin that was cleaned. I disclosed it when I sold it to him, and so did he when he listed it on e-bay. By the way, I beleive its His daughter does the listings for e-bay.
