I thought I read somewhere on the boards, that there was a smaller then usual mintage of halves this year. If so, from what branch?

Try Numismatic News--they seem to keep up with mintages. I recently subscribed after letting my CoinWorld subscription lapse.

Thanks everyone, I did not realize that for the past few years Halfs were not struck for circulation. I also didn't realize that held true for 1970 as well, no wonder why I have never found a 1970 half for my birth year in change
