I was curious why this thread was brought back...no clue from the poster who did so. ??? But, I'll post this 107a again, since I've been thinking about sending it for crossover (presently NGC 58)....think it'll cross ?
That is a beautiful coin. Love the detail. That rev crack on the neck is often lost to wear. It would be worth trying to cross it, but I would not compromise on the 58.
The toning may well be questioned by PCGS. If PCGS grades this one I would expect AU55. It is a pretty one. >>
My thought exactly Tom, but I'm a little bored lately...so I may just roll the dice ! I've got three others in NGC with stickers to cross over, so my thinking is that if PCGS dings them, then I've got some possible gold bean candidates !
And Lava, I agree with that for sure, but the NGC 58 doesn't seem to have much weight these days...I got this one for a 55 price, even though it looks every bit mint state in hand, minus the friction on the curls and bow, the cheek is clean and the luster rolls right over the rims all around.
If they are ok with the color, I'd be stoked to have this in a PCGS 55 holder !
On Jay's coin, I forgot to mention that PCGS often downgrades Busties when they are late die states, and especially those with rather heavy die cracks.
Don't hold your breath hoping for a CAC NGC 58 ending up as a PCGS 55 with a GOLD CAC sticker, on a Bust series coin. You can get the CAC green sticker back on the previously stickered NGC coin crossed same or lower grade. You must send CAC pictures of the coin in the NGC/CAC holder, in order to be assured the green sticker will be placed on the lower or crossed at grade PCGS holder. Only once have I managed to get a Gold sticker on a Bust Series coin NGC/CAC after being downgraded by PCGS. It went from CAC NGC 58 to GOLD CAC PCGS 55. I decided to keep the GOLD sticker instead of regrading at PCGS.

I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
I believe we were missing only the 1813 O-105a from this thread, so here's mine to complete the virtual collection of 1813 marriages & major die states. It's too bad that some of the other images have disappeared from the thread after several years!

This is a pretty old thread. Do we really want to resurrect it?

<< <i>Here's another O.107a, from busted up dies, of course.

I love those train-wreck dies! The kind where, no matter where you look on the coin, you'll always see a die crack
And the colorful toning is the cherry on top of your terrific coin!
