I am going to treat you with respect even though I disagree with you

A thought for the upcoming year.

I know I would post and reply more often if the above theme was universally present in this venue. And many more interesting and provocative ideas would be presented by our experts if they felt the responses would be civil.

So, Dealers and Fellow Collectors, let's have a banner 2007, learn a lot and listen to your heart, with no agenda other than to have a fun and informative time.

    TahoeDale,

I agree with you 100%, but in my opinion it is very hard to disagree, write down the reasons you disgree & not have the other party have an escalating reaction.

    If we all imagine that the words written are said in a matter-of-fact way, rather than an 'in-your-face' way;
if we stop and think of what our response should be, maybe, just maybe 2007 can be a year the forums stick around.

I certainly hope that this coming year will turn out this way.

Personally I would like the name calling to cease even if done in a jesting fashion between friends.

However I reserve the right to call myself an idiot since I have known me to do some pretty dumb stuff! image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Since the Open Forum "merged" into the Coin Forum, a very challenging scenario.

You've got nothing to worry about. The revolution has been crushed. The people are goosestepping politely.

I always have and will continue to do so.
PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Absolutely! We can have fun all we want.

Can we still make fun of modern collectors?

RESPECT? I dont know, thats an awfully hard

promise to make. There must be joy in shredding

and rendering others....cause it happens so often.

I guess hurting folks feelings and piling on, is a normal

function, like blowing ones nose. Or cleaning the wax out

of ones ears with a paper clip. But, speaking as a bear, I thing

you humans should try to be respectful, even if you disagree.

Some human beings are sensetive you know.image

i'm a firm believer that there's a certain segment of the forum with the "agenda" of having the place closed down.

Some people will smell weakness in this and move in to attack.
