My Humble Opinion Regarding The New PCGS Forum ...

... I am definitely not slighting any particular group of individuals, but it sure seems more friendly and civil here since the changing of the guard. I know that it has only been a few days, but that is my impression so far. Coins are still being discussed, ebay scammers are still being outed, "be your own TPG" slabs are still being laughed at ... but cruel aspersions are no longer being cast. I like it!

I even like the circulation find threads - but the techie and history stuff like the 8 reals thread is the best!

LOL Marty. Hey, did you see the one where the guy tells Brandon he has B.O.
The scary thing is, I suspect this is exactly what the higher-ups at PCGS wanted, as it fints in well with my impression of the companay with regrades to coin-orientation vs. money-orientation.

<< <i>there was a lot more info being discussed before especially with the older coinage, now its a lot of moderns, back slapping and advertising. Right now there is more going on across the street. >>
They won't let me through the doors across the street. ...
The poking at each other is still there, you just have to look.

It's holidays and that is the reason for some of the noted change.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Still good coin threads here and there, but they tend to be more tame than Sesame Street nowadays.

Neither was Conder101.

AU with altered surfaces.
I'll miss those two quite a bit. I'm still fairly new to the hobby and reading their posts was something far beyond what I hoped to learn here. It's a true shame...

The first is cutting edge discussions on coins, but with
some harsh truths being exposed, together with
heated exchanges and biting sarcasm. The second, is
a more mellow Forum, that is lite and less filling. The second
direction will tend to cause less complaining, less political unrest
and will be a duller, but with a more friendly atmosphere. I just don't see
a Forum emerging, with the best of both.

I read on the NGC board the other day where Conder101 said he wasn't banned just stopped posting till things cooled off around here.

After he made that statement, they banned him. He is now posting across the street.

Yep. Just got an email from coinguy1 saying that Conder101 was indeed banned.
<< <i>Well, I just took a peek over there to see who had migrated and on the first page of posts on the "US Coins" forum they bash: David Hall, Tradedollarnut (calling him a nazi), Laura, Legend, and Stuart of all people. That is why I am glad things have changed around here. >>
<< <i>The forum has turned into Coin Discussion Lite, in my opinion, since some very knowledgeable posters have left. I don't think it has changed for the better. >>
I agree. Mark, Conder, Fatman, ...-IMO, the board is much poorer for their absence.
