Snagged this one off of Wayne Herndons site.
This is my last coin purchase of the year, I think
I better start making plans for Christmas

Yes I do Lee, and I really like that one. Nice pick up.
Graded AU by PCGS but finding wear on this piece is difficult even on most of the high points of the coin; the coin is spectacularly toned in shades of gold, green and orange on the obverse and gold, green, lilac and lavender on the reverse; truly amazing color on both faces coupled with a popular, attractive design.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
PPSS- that Stone Mountain is fabulous. It would look nice in my AU Dansco set, too.
I already have an AU which I bought for a song, but it is mostly white. Nothin' wrong with that, but yours is bodacious.

I feel exactly the same way, and I know I'm not the only one. I wonder if this is a backlash reaction to the crap the mint is putting out today and the expense required to buy it all.

Yes. I like Stone Mountains as well. I have two in my collection. I love them. As a matter of fact, we have a saying in our home area. It says simply, that unless you have a Stone Mountain in your collection, you're not a coin collector. Don't think we really enforce it, but it has a nice charm to it. Everyone seems to have one in their collection.

LordM it's a very long line on the Isabella
Bodacious is very good in my book.
Thanks to all for your reply's
cards from the NY committee for the sale of the coin.
This was nearly 20 years ago, but I imagine that I handled 100-200 of the coins that were packaged in 5 piece holders. They were spectacularly toned. Most of the were sold to Jack Han**ck of GA, who has sinced passed away, much too young.
Would you believe that the machine would not let me spell Jack's last name properly????
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.
