Barry .... its Barry right? I used the term "junk" in a thread also but the appropriate term is probably "off speed" image

He throws a TON more off speed stuff then I thought he would after reading months of reports on the guy.

I figure 8-10 k's per game and 2.99 ERA would be worth the price we paid.
  • I really dislike his pitching motion; he jerks and pauses. He totally seems to lack intensity. I like to see some fire in his eyes.
  • << The main difference here, is that Dice-K (get used to it) is in the prime of his career, like most of the players the Sox acquire>>

OK, but can he pitch? image

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

He can pitch better than any yankee starter, so that alone ought to shut you up.
  • $100 Million+. Fiscally responsible.

Ask the Red Sox fans who they would rather have start a playoff game for them - Pettitte or Dice K?

D-mat will have Beckett's numbers next year, and feel free to bring this thread up again when the YANKS are again out of the playoffs..God get a life D-mat had 6 k's that is equal to any CRANKEE this year. I'd liek to know WTF is going on with his mentality. BTW he said it took him months to get adjusted to the MLB ball?? Weirdo yes, bust guess we'll see in November

Please Dice letting up 4 runs is NOT the reason we lost last night.. Our COLD FREAKIN' bats is why we lost. image

Not at all likely. His advantage was his first year here with batters not knowing what to expect. He'll be a decent pitcher, but don't expect Beckett 2.0.

What nobody has seen beckett before...but Joba will have a huge advantage right? As will as all the other SHANKEE no names who tried to pitch this year. Typical yankee fan mentality

Beckett is special. Dice is no Beckett. We haven't seen Joba as a starter on the MLB level so I have no idea what he'll give us, but I do love his stuff.

Boy the Red Sox fans are extra crabby when they're on the brink! image
