OK, so now I am getting a little upset & maybe understanding the other member(s).

Just so everone understands I am NOT calling you a thief, but here are the facts on your involvement in my TAG......

My TAG was set up so that members where placed in a specific order, then would have to actually request the package be sent to them. The reason was I thought it a waste of postage money (approx. $20) if there was nothing in the TAG that was actually wanted.
I felt that there should be no 'penalty' if that was the case & if passed on the member should keep his place in line.
BUT, they needed to reply within 2 days. This really meant about 3 days or more.
    Full 'rules' HERE..
    So, let's see:

Monday, Oct. 2, you are given the option to take the TAG or pass.
Wednesday, Oct. 4, no reply & option is given to another member (but you stay in line where you where).
Friday Oct. 6, you get back online & say you were out of town. (Nothing implied, just stating facts).

Tuesday, Oct. 24, you again are asked if you would like the TAG package.
Wednesday, Oct. 25, PM sent without a reply.
Thursday, Oct. 26, you pass on the package, stating "Im still alive guys."

Wednesday, Nov. 8, the previous member is done picking & ready to ship.
Thursday, Nov. 9, once again it's time for you to choose whether to take the TAG or pass.
Friday, Nov. 10, I again reply to the thread & PM you that it's your turn to choose.
Saturday, I ask that the TAG be sent to me.

After sitting on the coins for a while, not knowing if I wanted to continue, you mentioned that ,"There are still a few there I am interested in... Ill take it!"

I sent the package to you on Friday, Nov. 24.
Monday, Nov. 27 you recieved the coins.
You stated, "...Pulled a few aside to take a closer look at. I will hopefully get them sorted out tonight. ..."

After waiting Monday-Friday without a reply from you (I was thinking it would only take you a day or 2), I asked for an update on Saurday, Dec. 2.
On Sunday, Dec. 3 you reply that, "Sometimes on forums my replys dont get posted due to dial up... sorry. I didnt realize it didnt go through."
I thought to myself, all you have to do is refresh your screen to see if it went through or not.
Also, if you had actually were ready to ship, why not ask for the next members address to ship to?
But those questions were not worth asking, you were now ready to send the TAG along, cool.

By 4:35pm Pac.Time, after getting 'pass' replies from 2 different members within hours, I let you know who the next member in line was that wanted the package (& PM'ed you the shipping info) and asked you to update the thread with shipping info.

Again, I asked you on the thread & via PM to update the shipping info yesterday, still no reply.

All I am asking, is that you keep us informed.
If you need to go out of town, tell us. Better yet, mail the package on your way out.
Things happen, I know that. We procrastenate, I do that too.
But there comes a time when folks come to the conclusion that it's just not worth the trouble.

Read my timeline again, and if you were in my position if I was to create another TAG, or the position of other members creating a TAG, would you be worth the trouble?

How about an update on the TAG of mine that you've had for 2 WEEKS.
    This is really getting old.
Starting to see why others don't want you in their TAG.

William, count me in please. If you still have the tag coins just pick something out, put something in it's place and be done with it.

I had the coins too, at a bad time and couldn't find anything that interested me and the bad part was I called for the box, took nothing and paid some hefty postage because I called for it without really looking at what was listed.

Just move along and be done with this it. MARINES ARE NOT QUITTERS. image

    Wes,

I hope you are not referring to me.
Mine are not accusations but facts.
    Too bad.
For me it started as a chance to say that William is a good guy, just slow sometimes.
Now it is upsetting to know that he has been online at least once since posting my concern about not giving information about a TAG involving 40 Slabbed coins.
These were to be sent out about 2 weeks ago without a word on whether they were or not.

Hopefully William will have an explaination soon.

Hey, I see you've been online for about 15 minutes now.
Will you tell us the status of the TAG?

Not sure your reason for posting that... but whatever. Theres everything you need to know.

    William,

You state you have nothing to hide, yet you're also not telling us much.

There are 7 other members waiting for you to ship the 40 PCGS coins.
You have held these for much too long & have broken the rules.
You told me today that you have shipped these Express & that you would post the shipping info.
Well, you haven't posted anything yet.

But the bottom line is that you could be trusted, which supersedes everything else, and that's what I told the other member.

In 10 days you have lost all my trust in you as a member I would allow in a TAG & your name has been removed.
Sad, as it would have been so simple for you to send the package 9 or 8 days ago & kept your good reputation (at least with me & a few others).

    William,

What is your reasons for not responding to the inquiries on the TAG?
You where online again today & did not reply to this thread or mine.

I have nothing to hide... dont try to call me out by bolding things, and putting question marks by things.

I am not trying to call you out, I am calling you out.
I put question marks 'by' things because I am asking you a question.
Not that I think you will answer them, but maybe it will cause all those that have responded here to think.
To think about what you are purporting to be, then seeing how you are handling this situation.

And we see you are continuing to avoid the situation.

This should be very simple, just tell us what you've done with the 40 coins in the TAG?

Count me in, 30anvZ28. And good luck!
  • Augie,

Here is why I feel your actions reguarding this tag are completly two faced against two different people. I know your going to rally back, but you have to at least admit where im coming from is correct.

Nov 27th, I received the package
Dec 3rd, I updated the list with the new contents
Dec 3rd, pm sent to me with eyoung429 shipping information
Dec 5th, I am accused of being a thief (not by you), and wish to replace the original contents of my trade, and ship the box to you for verification to release me of any liability. You did not want this.
    Dec 14th, Package is shipped
Dec 16th, Package was attempted to be delivered, however no one was there to sign for it

At this point, my process is over, which took 19 days, from receipt, to first delivery, which included a 2 day dead time between the point where you send the shipping information, and I actually received it due to being out of town.

During this point in time, you change the thread name, post in MY giveaway thread degrading me, still have your thread aimed at degrading me, and completly humiliate me in front of the entire forums. Without getting personal, I try to explain that I am busy, and have a lot of things to do running a business... I said this because I didnt want to explain to the entire ******* world that my mother is a crack adict and had to go to the hospital because she almost died of an overdose. She inherited $63,XXX from my aunts death, and has managed to blow approx $20,000 of it on crack.

Thats why I wasnt around here much, and why I couldnt get to the post office. Neither here or there... I did not adhere to the TAG rules as posted... so you have a right to be upset...

HERES WHERE I GET PISSED (Im sure you allready know whats coming)

Oct 20th, Boom posts saying he received the package on the 19th.
Oct 24th, Boom says hes going through the package, and should have things updated by the evening. Later on that night, he does update his post with new package information.
Oct 26th, Claychaser requests the package
Oct 30th, The package gets shipped
    Nov 3rd, Package delivered.

Total time in process... 16 days, a mere 3 less then mine. Were there EVER any deragatory posts about him? No. Did you ever change the name of the thread to degrade him? No. Did you ever so much as post a single thing other then "any updates?"? NO.

Granted, im sure you guys were in contact by phone... yet you have my phone number, and even made a comment stating you were going to try to contact me from work since you have a 800 number, and dont want to pay big money trying to "track me down" also implying that I have been avoiding you. Did I EVER receive a phone call? Nope... did you ever post that up saying you never tried to call? Nope... once again, making me look like the bad guy. Did you EVER even give me your phone number so I could call you? Nope. So, you make me look like a complete ass across the entire forums... even when though this same situation has been relived by a different person. This situation in itself has caused me to lose a lot of respect for you reguarding this. I am going to post this entire message for all to see, and let them determine how they feel. I am also asking you to apologize for singling me out when others have done similar things.

    Respectfully Submitted

    And my reply to you,

    William,

You seem to have figured things out by yourself.

Yes, Boom & I were in contact with each other.
He was also goiing through some tough times, but he had the decency to be in contact with me and post for others to see that he was still around.
He also never told me that he was going to send the package & not follow through as you did.

You also would get online & not reply to my inquiries. What am I supposed to think?

I have also recieved a few PM that mention this is your M.O., painfully slow or pulling out of deals that were made.
Doesn't this bother you, how others percieve your trustworthiness? Obviously not.

I hijacked your thread because you were purporting to be upset that someone called you a thief, and that you were a stand-up Marine.
You may see yourself that way, but that's not how others that have dealt with you see you.

I did not call you because I did not have your number (at the time), although I did make an effort to find it & I did call a Bill Bennet in Hilton Head, but the zip was different than yours. I left an message, but I expect it was someone else.

I also tried to find the local Police, if i had to go that route, but as you pointed out there is no Police in Hilton Head.
This would have been the second to the last choice, because if I went that route I would in essance be calling you a thief.

I also gathered information on my last opinion, if I had to proceed with a lawsuit, but things don't look like they will have to go that far.

We all have cr@p that goes on in our lives, if you're too busy to be involved in more than 1 thing, don't involve yourself in more than 1.
Excuses are just that, I was out of town, my dial-up connection is slow, my mother is a crack-head........

Nobody is responsible for you but you, not your ISP, not your mother, not the Marines, just you.
You will probably never see it that way, it's always the other guys fault, or blame some object for the problem.

    Pretty sad, IMO.

  • 30anv , your original assertion was being called a thief. i still don't see anyone who outright called you a thief,
but giving you the benefit of the doubt that it happened, it's clear now that your not a thief.

but please be more punctual or at least communicative next time. agreed?

    and

thanks for your service to the country.

  • At one point or another we all have disagreements on Internet forums, sadly the reality of the situation is sidestepped and it becomes a manipulative, side taking flame war. It's not worth dealing with when someone sinks to so low a level to win an argument at any cost. I wasn't there to observe the argument and thus have no opinion on it. I do know that what is often said is seldom the reality.

Instead of fighting a flame war its easier to leave. Whatever brought you to the forum in the first place is hopefully still strong enough to bring you back someday. If you played fair, you proved a point, courtesy is better than winning at any cost.

    Sorry to see you go.

Please count me in for a chance at your giveaway.
  • I have been watching this for some time now, and I must say- this is childish.

IF William is slow (in a decision making process and delivery)- SO WHAT!

most of us on this board enter swaps and giveaways, tags and have a tendency to be S L O W.

It is either for a lack of trust(waiting to see what we get first) or WE WORK for a living and sometimes do not get so immersed in coin activity.

Think about what you say to a board member before writing a letter and then posting it.

There are a few here that I prefer not to associate myself with- MY PEROGATIVE.

and there are many that come off as being jerks that I have respect for- even if I think they are or have screwed the pooch a bit.

needless to say- William- stick around and do not let little childish remarks hamper what YOU like to do- collect coins.

and for those who like to throw stones at glass houses....

Shall I cast the first stone????

now behave like adults and apologize.
  • Semper Fi, seems your problem is just like mine was in a trade. I felt no detailed reply was necessary when the item was received by me other than it arrived however, another individual in the trade did not send his partner a thing. There was quite a bit of messages about this individual and then my swap partner sends a note saying he had not heard from me as to whether I received/did not receive or did/did not like what I received.

Whow after the storm blew over because I did not send a message the way someone wanted to see, I have stopped trading, although I do miss the trades it is more comforting not having to stroke someone's pride with a message or have to listen to a partner that has been going through personal problems that did not send you a trade item but has received yours over (sometimes two weeks - did I send a flaming letter "NO").

I may try trading sometime in the near 20 years though - hope you turn a cheek and do the same. I use the motto "Do unto others as you would like to be done to yourself" and "Once burned SHAME ON YOU" "TWICE SHAME ON ME".

    Count me in.

I know Marines are not quitters. If I departed every situation where I had a disagreement with someone, I would have few places to go. The Internet is particularly vulnerable to inflamed situations for many reasons. Typed text does not carry the full meaning of the in-person spoken word as no body language or tone is included.

    William,

Enter me in, and if I win, YOU keep it.

As for the issue(s)....some people here are control freaks. That's one of the reasons I don't particiate in certain things.
I do know if someone was trying to call me out when there were reasons for things, I wouldn't be as nice as you have been....heck, my retorts may even have gotten me banned.

For a marine, you're pretty level headed image
    (I'm ex-Army and have a bit of a temper...heh)

Ajia.....learn to let things go. There is no reason to continually post. We know you rule the Giveaway board but you don't need to pop into every thread and respond/post. So what if William posts something...it was already covered in YOUR own thread....why come over and crap in his thread? He hasn't stolen anything and seems above board enough.

Not everyone's lives revolve around the board daily.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • If I win I will donate it to Jeremy's charity auction.
  • Merry Christmas. and please add me to your give away.

There is nothing more powerful than the power of goodbye
  • Thanks everyone.

Boom is right. My detector was in my car from my 2nd outing ever with lordmarcovan. I was taking everything out of my car to pack it up for my 700 mile trip to Ohio... and it was missing. I never had the money to purchase it in the first place... but did... and after 2 uses, its gone. Oh well, thats how it goes I guess.

Its Christmas Day. I will leave the tag open until the end of the day. The time for your post must be marked Dec 25th... if it isnt, you missed the end of the tag. I will get the list together, and pick a winner after the tag closes.

    Merry Christmas Everyone.
