2 - 1824 Bust Halves - Different looking Dates!

Hey guys,
I picked these 2 bust halves off ebay last week for cheap & when I got to looking at them the dates don't look the same.
The 1st halves 1 is touching the edge where as the other is like a smaller 1, any ideas?
I haven't been able to get a copy of the Overton book yet, sorry.

Just die varieties--dates are not the only difference--look at Star 13 position to hair and arrow 1 to A. Don't have time to attribute right now.
